I saw the demo. I understand how you could come to that conclusion, because the demo looked boring as shit.

I don't care, the fact is don't go talking shit about the combo's in DMC3 when it had plenty of options besides the fucking Devil Arms.
If you had payed attention you might have noticed that the Styles and Guns themselves have their own techniques to use too.
use a basic attack string in DMC and use one in NG and compare linking up 3 attack strings or so does not a good combat system make you can pull off like chains of attacks well into the hundreds on NG and that would be without reusing the same combo once

Which is bullshit unless those combo's can chain into one another which they can't because some of the combo's end immediately after using a certain move.

I am not wasting my fucking money on this game simply because it's not a fair comparison.
If they wanted to sell me on buying the game, maybe they should've given me a better part of the game to play rather than the fucking start.

no a basica attack string in DMC is triangle x3 or triangle plus a direction x3, theres little to no variation between individual attack strings

I thought you were referring to one enemy. If you can't chain the combo's together then it's not really big on combo's is it?

Bad example. I found a better one of DMC4 Dante, the gimped one and Nero.
Although most of Nero's seemd to be a bit reused.

I'm reading this debate and thinking, "Who the fuck cares about ultra 1000000 hit combo's and super sexy graphics. If it's fun, I'll play it til the disc doesn't work anymore."
And that's all that matters.
And btw, I'm one of those "fags" that just uses basic attacks and guns in DMC. That's how much I care about the uber combo tricks. When playing DMC3, I only use Quicksilver and Beowulf anyway. ZA WARUDO! MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA! SHORYUKEN!!
As for GoW, I've never even touch GoW, So I can't say shit about it.
I'm getting Bayonetta just for the sake that the makers of DMC made the game. And I'd still only use the basic shit.
Ninja Gaiden S2 demo was beaten by me being an uber pussy n00b and playing Easy Auto-Combo Mode.
This game will prolly be the SAME WAY, Me beating it with just basic shit and whatever move I happen to like the most.
I only care about if it's fun. And it's pretty damn fun to me.
But, Hey, It's not like personal preference matters or anything.

Damn, Bob's being the reasonable one.
Whatever, I enjoy the flashy techniques and shit in DMC and got Bayonetta because of it.
Dante's Inferno plays exactly like God of War and I probably won't get it unless I can rent it.

well DMC 4 was significantly better combo wise mainly due to the switching weapons
nero was shitty though having to rely on pulling enemies to him which i feel breaks comabt flow
main thing for me is comabt flow it make s a huge difference as does impact
these are two things that bayonetta does terribly
i didn't think DI had a good combo system really what it did have was good impact, you felt like you were fighting that being well done makes things more fun also saying you can mash square in DI is a bit harsh considering if your playing DMC the average player will be just mashing triangle a lot and just do the basic 3 and 4 hit combos and possibly using an occasional airhike/stinger etc to mix things up outside of swordmaster though i didn't m=find the melee combat all that

No, I'm not saying it's stupid because it's not based on the poem.
I'm saying, IT'S STUPID BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING STUPID. THESE ARE NORMAL PEOPLE, WHAT SUPERNATURAL POWERS DO THEY HOLD? HOW CAN THEY POSSIBLY MAKE GOOD BOSS FIGHTS?

Buu, Antony was a Roman Emperor. He was tough but I doubt he'd hold some sway over A MAN WITH THE SCYTHE OF DEATH AT HIS DISPOSAL.

Not officially, but it was leaked for the 360 so people have been pirating it. I was only interested in the Lucifer fight and good lord, does he look stupid.

lol honestly i have no idea i never studied this time period
and now you mention that it does seem even more tarded, an emperor wouldn't even be the toughest man in his army
i'm guessing they'll play the egyptian god card lol (pun intended)

It still sounds incredibly stupid, why didn't they just use the bevy of demons littered throughout Christian mtyhos?
Or better yet, just use the Deadly Sins.

my guess would be due to the ignorance of ppl in general i mean your fairly well read in mythology compared to the average person so you'd recogniser the demons in christian mythos, but the average person knows more history then that kind of thing, so its literally a case of selling out and appealing to the masses (i kinda see your point on how this game is effectively whoring out dantes work)
in reference to the deadly sins i'm guessing (i don't know much about the game) that they probably thought figure heads from history that embodied the deadly sins would be more interesting then just having embodiments of each individual sin, possibly so the player can relate to more whats going on the screen i.e. that looks like whoever they were famous for that sin oh i get those attacks now
honestly though i don't really see much wrong with that part as long as they pick people correctly for each level

Oh the historical figures do correspond to the circles well enough, god knows I'm probably one of the only people who's gonna get why Antony and Cleopatra are the bosses of Lust, but that Mythos thing? I would agree with that if it weren't for one thing.
Dante's Father (Game Dante, not Poem Dante) is called Alighieri. Dante's last name in the poem is Alighieri, so really no one besides hard nerds for mythology like myself would get this because Dante's last name in this game is never stated. He's just DANTE, THE DESTROYER.
Note: No that's not his title, I was just saying that because I felt like being facetious.
But like you said, it's really more appealing to the masses, so I guess they felt like doing that just in case the hard nerd's got some reference for themselves.

this seems kinda retarded this reminds me of simpsons when they watch the poke of zoro
and its got ninjas fighting zoro and him fighting the man in the iron mask
thing that bothers me about that video it seems like theres hardly any change in attacks and all that hppened with the cross is that it fires an extra cross >_>
