One Piece: Pirate Warriors (Kaizoku Musou)

A scan of the Jump magazine has appeared, which confirms the news that ONE PIECE 海賊無双 One Piece Kaizoku Musou (One Piece: Pirate Warriors) will be the third Warriors franchise, following Gundam Musou (Gundam Warriors / Dynasty Warriors: Gundam) and Hokuto Musou (North Star Warriors / Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage).

The game's release date is still unspecified, though it has been confirmed as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. The game seems to retain the anime looks and employs the cel-shaded graphics that was also seen in Gundam Musou 3.

The countdown teaser site, which will not officially reveal the game until 7 September, confirms that this game is being developed by Omega Force, the developer team behind most Warriors games.

Looking at that scan looks like we'll see footage at the TGS, i'm glad there doing cellshading.

I never played the HnK game, but I hope they'll do actual storylines and not just random (post-timeskip?) battles.

If its done in the style of HnK we won't have any problems as that pretty much covered almost all major plot points of part 1. Only removing one character of note that i cared about but that was on the level of removing one of the villains of east blue.

Oh yeah and in HnK most importantly there were no filler characters IIRC, even in the additional what if scenarios. That also had a solid 50 hours playtime without even touching hard difficulty, or DLC.

I hope this one actually gets dubbed and not just some English translated text like Europe got for Unlimited Cruise. Then again since this one is made by Koei, I'm sure it's going to make it over here sooner or later because they release pretty much everything over here.

It will get dubbed if it gets an R1 release.

FUNimation/Okatron 5000 would dub it. They have the One Piece rights in NA.

I have no doubt Funi would dub it.

I am going to boycot this game and not play it because the wait took so long!!!

Koei are normally really late with there announcements so hopefully this is a decent way along.

Awesome, high hopes for this. Better not be Armada of the Damned all over again. I don't think I could handle another disappointment like that.

Agreed. That looked like such a good game too.

But really, if this game got canceled for the same reason AotD was(Disney laying off a bunch of Propaganda Games' employees), I'd probably laugh(then go cut myself).

Well considering its Koei's main team working on this and they're dealing with a franchise thats huge in Japan, with a game series thats already huge in Japan. I'd say its impossible. Keep in mind Ken's Rage went straight in at number one on the sales chart of Japan

It was reported on a bunch of places it was the first link i could google.

Even if its an error its not going to be 200,000 sales off. The fact is Hokuto musou was the biggest selling game in japan on its opening week.
