Ginga Giri plays again in this episode.....

....when Goku hugs Goten and takes off.

It sounds really, really out of place, as you could’ve guessed already. The English version had New Earth Song playing in the background, which is pretty much the best piece to use in this scene.

Gohan after the Z-Sword breaks: Now it’s the Z-Dagger...

Another funny line.

Old Kaioshin outright states that Gohan will be the strongest in the universe after his powers are unlocked. In the dub he just says that he can do something with him. The Mystic Gohan/SSJ3 Goku screw-up... has begun...

Japanese title: “Birth Of a Superhuman Warrior!! His Name is Gotenks”
English title: “Gotenks Is Born”

The comedic effect of Gotenks’ voice isn’t as big in the dub, because he’s voiced by two women, as opposed to a man and a woman in the original.

This episode was good.

Notable things about the booklet:

- Gohan is called Mystic Gohan
- Vegeta’s first appearance is said to be in episode 11. It’s supposed to be episode 5. I don’t remember if this was in the other booklets.
- In the summary for the episode “End of Earth” Kid Buu is said to be becoming stronger than before.

DBZ episode 255

Piccolo: I fought with both of your fathers before you were even born!

Not true.

In the dub Piccolo doesn’t mention that Buu’s body is now more suited for battle. Later on he also doesn’t mention that Buu can now sense ki. The narrator does later on though.

Super Buu’s voice was a lot more awesome with the filter than without. It’s still good though.

This is the best dub title out of the entire series.

Renzoku Super Donuts, the attack to catch Buu in a ball, isn’t named in the dub.

Dub Goku: I don’t know what attack that was, but I haven’t heard of anyone being split in half since Trunks beat Freeza!

Except, dear Goku, you Kamehameha’d Cell in half.
