| I've been using the buff today, and got one of the emblems equipped - do the emblem and class items also affect experience earned? | |

| The buff alone should double the experience gained at this point. Emblems, shaders and class items add 10% each.
Edit: Regarding the buff,
Tue: +10% Wed: +15% Thu: +25% Fri: +40% Sat: +60% Sun: +100% Mon: +150%

| I'm almost there now, just need another three hundred IB rank. If I don't get it today, I should be able to get it tomorrow. Bought the shader, just in case. | |

| Finally there. Re-rolled a few times on the sniper rifle and this is what I've currently got, with motes of light now into single figures!
Solar Damage Hawkeye SLR15 Sight / Shortgaze SLH10 / Ambush SLH25 Double Down (on spawn occasionally gains extra ammo) Damage upgrade Snapshot / Field Scout / Custom Optics Final Round Damagre upgrades x 4
So, got the much sought after Final round, but not sure about Double Down and while I did see a few rolls with armour piercing the perks were garbage. Also, I've got lots of solar weaponry, not so much Arc or Void.
So, do I re-roll again or is this satisfactory?

| Well, I rolled again.
Solar Damage Eagleeye SLR20 / Longview SLR10 / Ambush SLh25 Double Down Damage Upgrade Snapshot / Armor-Piercing rounds / Custom Optics Final Round Damage upgrade
Still solar damage, and still Double Down but did get armor-piercing this time and still got Final Round. And on that note, I really am out of motes so daren't risk another roll.

| Oh, bugger.
Having spent 11k glimmer on the IB sniper and 4500 on the shader, the gunsmith is selling rare Fusion rifles again, which I need to finish the dismantling stage of the PI bounty. I've now got 1.5k glimmer, not even enough for a single gun!
Anyone got any tips for speedy glimmer gathering?

| The first part of the Exclusion Zone mission with the heroic modifier. Use a resupply code and kill all enemies except for one. Die and repeat the process.
That Spear is pretty much perfect; Ambush, Snapshot/ AP rounds and Final Round are the best perks. Double Down isn't as good as Spray n' Play, but it's not as important as the other three. How many motes did you spend? I bought another one and rerolled it for void damage as the vendors don't sell any void snipers. I got some decent perks for PvE.
I think I spent over 100 motes this time, but I got four excellent weapons so it's worth it. I have the FR Spear, a void Spear, a void fusion rifle that's also great for PvP and an excellent Scout Rifle for PvE. Cant't wait for the next void nightfall; I'll be using Voidwalker with Bad Juju and Obsidian Mind for infinite nova bombs and Efrideet's Spear.

Yeah, that's what I did. Not used that before, but someone on Gfaqs suggested it. Just need to hit up Nightfall again, but I'll save that for next week. Looking forward to PI mark 2 though, the first gun was pretty good but hopefull with the new buffs it'll be even better. - Quote :

I spent around thirty motes all in, I'm down to five or six I think, but I'm happy with it, and the fact that you'd rate it speaks volumes. Did you just get a load of weapon drops? I've got jack from IB this time around - well, three absolutely hideous Ships - but not single weapon drop above crappy blues.

| The previous IB weapons, the scout and the fusion rifles, can be drops once you've reached rank 3. The next nightfall should be Sekrion with void burn. - Spoiler:

| Four arc burn and only one solar? No wonder I always bemoan having almost exclusively solar weapons!
Void wise, I have a couple of decent Fusion Rifles though my only sniper is a pre DLC level 20 blue, with max attack of 242. Meh. I've got Truth as well, but rockets are of pretty limited utility. Except for Gjallarhorn, of course, but I doubt I'll ever get to lay my hands on that.

| Well, before IB closed, I did manage to make my way to rank 5 though the only real reward I bagged in the long haul to get there was a Perun's Fire. The perks were utter shite though, and it didn't have accelerated coils so I re-rolled a couple of times until I ran out of motes. I didn't have much luck on the rolls; it's now got the vacuum perk (where it gathers ammo laying around from a slightly wider range), the one that extends your slide and no accelerated coils or armour-piercing. In other words, it's junk. I'll stick it in the vault until the next IB rolls around and hopefully will be able to re-roll something a little better then. | |

| Accelerated coils won't raise its charge rate much as there is a limit to charge speed. For example,
Plan C: base charge rate is 22, with coils 37 Light/Beware: base charge rate is 25, with coils 40 Perun's Fire: base charge rate is 33, with coils 40
So accelerated coils isn't that good for Perun's Fire. I rerolled mine and now it has Perfect Balance and a scope that increases stability and it's much easier to get OHKs at mid range.

| Finally got my upgraded Plan C levelled up a little, and it is still a monster in PvP.
I still need to hit Nightfall this week, and will have to get my Hunter doing the Weekly as I desperately need strange coins again.

| I feel that Thorn is currently the best exotic in PvP. The Last Word, Hawkmoon, Vex Mythoclast, SUROS Regime, Pocket Infinity, Truth and Gjallarhorn are also excellent weapons. Plan C, Patience and Time, Invective and Thunderlord are great options as well, but replaceable by legendaries with good perks. | |

| Xur is trolling this week.
No Land Beyond is - according to those better equipped than I - pretty much a novelty only, and wholst all those upgrades are nice, I still don't have Gjallarhorn, Hawkmoon, Heart of Praxic Fire in the first place. So much for our Christmas treat.

| The sniper seems extremely bad for PvE and I think there's no point in using it in PvP either. The expansion's exotics are really terrible. | |

| PSN is down again, for maintenance this time. I bet all those who got Destiny for Christmas must have loved the fact they have only been able to play it for five minutes over the last couple of days.
Bitching aside, I made a fairly bold call this week and deleted my Titan. Why? I never used him. For whatever reason, I much prefer playing Warlock in PvE and using the Hunter in PvP. I rolled a second Warlock so I've spent the week trying to get him levelled to twenty in the hope I can swap gear between my 'locks and hit Weekly / Nightfall more frequently, get more coins / gear and finally stop having to use people on my friends list as a crutch to get me through the tougher parts. Seriously. My lvl 27 Hunter couldn't finish the 24 Weekly earlier because I didn't bring any arc weapons with me and my solar sniper, while powerful, took four shots to bring down the minotaur shields in the boss room, by which time I was dead. I invited one of my friends in, who happens to have played over double my 130-odd hours and has maxed ice breaker / mythoclast and Gjallarhorn, and he basically took care of the boss in about thirty seconds.
While I'm always glad for the assistance, it still rankles that I need it in the first place. I also really need to pull my finger out and have a crack at Vault of Glass. Yes, I've still not done it.

| The hardest part of VoG is finding a group of 5 that is just starting, as you can only open each chest once per week. | |

| Apparently the new raid can be soloed, although the final battle is impossible unless you're a level 32. I may try this sometime.
Edit: Before PSN went down again, I was doing some bounties. When I completed Omnigul's strike for Eris, I noticed that I had used the nova bomb 18 times, as I had also taken the "kill 3 enemies rapidly with a super 20 times" bounty. Obsidian Mind and Good Juju is truly an awesome combo.

| Ha, Good Juju. My bounty is almost done for Juju, only need a few more Nightfall kills for the new Pocket Infinity as well.
I did Omnigul's strike a few times as part of ROC earlier this week, and whilst it doesn't do anything particularly wrong it does absolutely nothing new. All it seems to do is throw lots of strong enemies at you in four or five different locations and the final encounter sees Omnigul floating back and forward on the same platform. Frankly, its a bit dull.
Not sure If I should buy the Symbiote helmet for my Hunter. I've got the previous light-level-30 variety and whilst it would mean discarding both my newly acquired light level 33 Vanguard helmet and my maxed Ahamkara's gauntlets so I'd take a big initial hit in terms of light level.

| TTB, have you picked this up again or have you moved on?
I checked my stats earlier and I'm now 140-hours in. There aren't many games that I've played for that kind of length, which speaks volumes for how good Destiny's core gameplay is, despite its many flaws.

| With PSN back up, I hit Crucible with my new Warlock this morning and I'm wrecking face. No idea how, but I'm doing better with this guy than I do with my regular lvl 30 'lock. Well, I say I've no idea how... I'm using a green level 15 fusion rifle with such a quick charge rate that I'm easily dispatching lvl 30 / 31 opponents.
Hit the Crucible bounties hard, and will be level 20 by the end of the day. Then I just need to swap some gear over and I go hit the Nightfall and Weekly again.

| Today I got another Plan C and Ice Breaker from Roc strikes. I also got the crappy FWC pulse rifle again from Nightfall. At least I was offered Invective's bounty, even though I doubt I'll ever use it. Give me Gjallarhorn and Thunderlord you stupid game. | |

| Plan C is awesome, though I daresay everyone now has one. Invective is devastating in PvP, but I'm not really a fan of the camping style shotguns require, I'd rather run a fusion rifle and have some option at medium range as well.
My current wishlist would be something like; Gjallarhorn Ice Breaker Fatebringer Vision of Confluence Heart of Praxic Fire
I'm not sure about the new Raid drops, apparently the weapons generally aren't quite as good as the VoG equivalents were, the exceptions being the fusion rifle and sniper, both of which are supposed to be great.
I haven't yet finished the Nightfall either, so I'll get my new Warlock to 20 then try and hit it twice.
