| It's one of the best PvE exotics in the game. Keep it on you, even if you only use it to regenerate ammo for your other special weapons. | |

| I've used it a bit, quite like it.... sniping seems to be easier in this game than other games, so I think I might just actually use it. | |

| RNG being a little more friendly today, though in a slightly frustrating way. Did Nightfall with my 3rd character, got Dragon's Breath. Again. So, this week I got three exotics from Nightfall, including two of the three exotic Rocket Launchers, but all three were duplicates and I've still got no Gjallarhorn. On the plus side, Crota's End has been a little kinder to me today; managed to get Light of The Abyss and Swordbreaker on consecutive Crota takedowns, and got to Orbit to see I'd gotten Hard Light, an exotic Auto Rifle. Very nice. | |

| Swordbreaker is a bit "meh", but then most shotguns are very situational anyway. Hard Light seems a pretty decent auto-rifle, even if it is of the high RoF-low impact archetype, with reload, stability and the aforementioned rate-of-fire all very high which makes landing accurate headshots in PvP quite simple. Light of the Abyss though is a monster. The charge rate must be among the highest in the game, it has a massive magazine, great impact, decent range... it may well end up being my "go-to" in PvP. | |

| dude, we just spent several hours on doing Vault Of Glass on hard mode... I can't even begin to tell you how many times we had to retry Atheon, it was horrible, it's 5am now... I'm never doing this again, absolutely terrible...
I did end up getting red death twice during the raid though, from a chest and from the last battle.. I also got Swordbreaker from finishing Crota in the other raid.

| haha, holy shit, I have like the luckiest hunter on the planet or something. I did 3 vanguard strikes today and I got a legendary engram for each.
One of them turned into some gauntlets that I needed, and one of them turned into "Up For Anything" which is the auto-rifle I so desperately wanted.
Edit:
alright, well, that actually ended up being 4 strikes in a row that I got a legendary, got gauntlets again though, which were better so I used them and scrapped the earlier ones.
Got nothing special from Nightfall or Weekly on my hunter, maybe tomorrow when I do Titan. Got all legendary and and exotic piece of gear on my Hunter now, so if I can level all those up, I'll have two characters that are raid-worthy.

| I've come to the conclusion that Efrideet's Spear with the final round and armor-piercing rounds perks is the best weapon for PvP. | |

| Yes, it's a beast, but wasn't that why everyone and his dog was re-rolling them during the last two Iron Banners? Xur's back, selling mainly stuff we don't need again. Â No Land Beyond, again? Â Really? Â Ugh. Â On a positive note, I can finally get my upgraded Voidfang Vestments, and I bagged an exotic chestpiece which decrypted into... - Spoiler:
Heart of the motherf***ing Praxic Fire
I was squealing like a girl, until I check the stat roll... max 126 discipline is really low. Â Still, I can try and upgrade if Xur seels the upgrade option next time around.

| I'm surprised that I haven't run into other players abusing the Spear like I do though. It's better than carrying heavy ammo and shutting down gunslingers' super feels awesome.
Speaking of heavy ammo, unfortunately HoPF, Armamentarium and other exotic chests lost most of their usefulness when the increased heavy weapon ammo perks stopped stacking.

| Congrats, Psycho.
I still need either a chest or helmet on my Warlock, but this week I've been mainly using my Hunter to do Iron Banner so haven't yet tried either raid with either Warlock. Only done Nightfall and Weekly heroic once as well, but given how much of a chore they were, I don't think I'll bother again until reset. I did spend a load of coins on Heavy ammo synth, though I suspect I'm far from alone there!

| I got a pretty much perfect roll for Felwinter's Lie, the shotgun from Iron Banner. It has Aggressive Ballistics for maximum impact, hammer forged for maximum range (despite AB lowering the range) and shot package. It's a very cheap weapon. | |

| Got my Raid chest piece, so can finally hit 32 once its levelled. Downsides? Carry extra ammo for Pulse Rfiles and Snipers. Pulse Rifles? Really? Eww. The only sniper I use PvE is Ice Breaker, so extra ammo not a problem! | |

The worst part about the next update is that nerfing the damage and effective range of autorifles because they're overused, even though handcannons and scout rifles are way better than autorifles already. Yeah, that was announced last week. Personally, I still don't think a 10% damage increase is going to be enough. The only Pulse Rifle I use currently is Bad Juju, which is about on par with Ice Breaker in terms of ever needing ammo, and even the legendary vendor Pulse rilfes that I've had dropped have been low-impact garbage. And no, I don't have Red Death. I'm not a fan of scout rifles; I really don't like having to keep hitting the fire button. I've no idea why it bothers me so much on scouties when I'm quite heppy to keep hitting the trigger on handcannons, but it just does. And no, I don't have Vision of Confluence either! Where was I? Ah yes, got my raid chestpiece, so can hit 32 at last, though I do have to use an exotic helmet to do so. Got past deathsinger eventually, and onto the final part of the Raid. Wow, that was an abortion. Â Tried finishing off Crota, and it just wasn't happening. Â A couple of people left, Sly included, after my atrocious attempts at being Swordbearer, so we got in another guy who insisted he was an experienced swordbearer and could down Crota easily. Â He swore loudly at the group immediately, scolded us all for having no sense of strategy because we were using the left method against Crota rather than his preferred centre method. Â Fine, we switched to middle. Â At this point, the fireteam leader, whose PSN I shall not publish but who sounded no older than thirteen or fourteen, dies. Â Why? Â He was standing in one of the towers. Â One of the Boomer towers. Â Yep. Â He "thought it would be a good place to hide", and "what's a boomer?" being two of the most amusing comments he made that drew the ire of the guy playing swordbearer. Â He insisted he'd beaten Crota before, but he clearly hadn't or had been completely carried through without understanding any of the mechanics. Â "What's the big green ball?", being one comment made in regards to the Oversoul. Anyway, once we'd explained the mechanics of the fight, we got to work on the centre strategy. Â I'm on Boomer duty, the other members are hitting Hive Swordbearer, who goes down. Â Our experienced swordbearer picks the sword up, shouts at us to hit Crota, before using a mid-air R2 heavy melee strike, which means he only gets two hits on Crota before boss is back on hi feet and promptly cuts him the fuck in half. Â Oversoul. Â Nuts to it, lets wipe. Â Try again. Â Same thing. Â And again. Â Hang on, what was that? Â Fireteam leader - the aforementioned teen - is using a fusion rifle to hit Crota. Â Yep, he's saving his rockets for something "bigger". Â Cue some ribbing about nothing bigger than the current Raid boss. Â We try again, swordbearer dies again, then quits the team without a word. I called it quits there; that team was never going to beat Crota, though I do suspect the game was a little glitchy in places. Â I used five heavy ammo synths, and not one gave me heavy ammo. Â I saw Crota take three Gjallarhorn rockets (not mine, sadly!) without it affecting his shield, and one guy died and got stuck outside the map, unable to respawn until he left the fireteam and rejoined. So yeah, the run was a bit of a farce really. Â Good fun, but a bit of a farce.

It's five heavy ammo synth in exchange for a single coin. Given that the gunsmith would charge near 5000 glimmer for the same, it's a bargain. Buy as many as you can, trust me. If you ever plan on doing Hard Mode Crota, they're much much a requirement.

| Is your consumable inventory full, Simian? Ammo packs never work unless you have an empty slot, Bungie have neglected to fix or raise awareness of that bug since the game came out. | |

| I'd rather save my coins till the day Suros Regime comes by, then I'll consider giving them up for ammo stuff... as it stands now, I'm keeping them fairly close to around 23 cause I know I'm gonna miss out on Suros if I don't. | |

| Low RoF, high impact autorifles will get an even bigger damage reduction. RIP Suros Regime | |

It was, and I never knew that. Auto-rifle wise, I've been having some PvE joy with Hard Light. In enclosed spaces it's signature perk means that pullets will over-penetrate enemies and then ricochet around off hard surfaces, so each bullet can actually hit multiple enemies, multiple times. It's a fun weapon to use, it looks great and sounds great. The auto-rifle nerf is allegedly only going to be a 2% reduction in base damage, so it won't be too severe in terms of damage . The range reduction and subsequent damage drop-off is likely to be more noticable, but hand cannons and fusion rifles are also having their ranges tweaked as well so hopefully there won't be so many people using nothing but fusion rifles in Crucible.

| No clue about PvE, but using an autorifle in PvP... Well, it sucks. I've been using Suros Regime for the IB bounty and it just kills so slowly (I believe it takes 5 or 6 headshots) compared to Thorn, TLW, Vex and Hawkmoon that most people are using, and it obviously loses to special and heavy weapons. This is going to be the third or fourth time they're nerfing the gun, they may as well remove it from the game. | |
