Truth: how many coins do you have? It's pretty cheap in PvP and good for void burn nightfalls.

Only got nine coins, so only way to get Truth would be to run the level 28 weekly and it would use all my coins. I'm tempted to wait until next week, see if Xur has anything slightly more agreeable.

Save your coins, complete the weekly, level up another character.

Yeah, I need to get my hunter up to 20. I feel almost emasculated by asking, but do you think you could give me a hand with the Weekly? I have no idea how you solo'd it, but I simply can't get it done, not at 28 at least.

It's not that hard if you know what you're supposed to do and have the right weapons. We should probably run it together. Oh, bring some ammo packs too.

In other news, Thorn is a beastly PvP weapon. Can't believe it's getting buffed.

Yes, of course. I suppose that half my problem is that I've generally got little experience with the strikes at basic levels, incluidng what weapons to bring, where I should be at any given moment, etc.

Quite how the hell you solo Nightfall with such regularity is utterly baffling to me!

The game becomes easy if you've the right weapons (Vision of Confluence and Ice Breaker for this weekly) and some experience. It's a FPS, so it doesn't really require skill.

You made that look so easy.

It is easy if you've the recommended level and weapons at 280 attack. My sniper could oneshot every enemy except for those with yellow lifebars. Precision shots on the bosses did over 2.5k damage.
The damage and armor penalties for being underleveled are massive.

My Legendary sniper was doing 800 damage to the boss. And those were headshots!

Also, thanks to that mission I finally unlocked the Mark of the Devourer perk (which causes damage over time) for Thorn, went straight into PvP... and jesus, it's a monster. There are very few firefights that I don't get the kill, even if it has to be post mortem. I freaking love this gun.

Yeah, the small magazine and the reload time aren't a big drawback in PvP and it has good range, decent stability and the highest RoF among hand cannons. Mark of the Devourer causes 35 damage meaning two head shots or three body shots are a guaranteed kill. It also slows down the enemy's recovery and you can tell where they're hiding. It's excellent for getting assists and even post mortem medals. Oh, and the last bullet does extra damage too.

It's amazing and it's only a matter of time before it gets even better. I'm still getting most of my kills from fusion rifles, but I really like it as a primary.

Just powered through all the bounties for today, and got myself another exotic bounty, opting for what I think leads to Invective. I much prefer shotguns to snipers and fusion rifles in PvE, so hope it's a good one.

Invective is extremely good. Save up your glimmer, you'll need around 13k for the final step.

Just went on an 11 win streak with a friend on Salvage, got the medal for doubling the total enemy score every time. We didn't even lose, just decided to stop as it had been two hours. Might make a scoreboard collage.

You know you can't equip two exotic weapons at once though, right? Invective is extremely good (and extremely scrubby, it's a shotgun with long range and full auto; yes, I hate that weapon), but you won't be able to use Thorn.
You should buy the Devil handcannon or find another shotgun with full auto and a range upgrade; there is actually one in the Vault of Glass.

Is Invective full auto? Didn't realise that.

I was considering Lord High Fixer and The Comedian as alternatives to Thorn and Invective. Still, got a bit of work to do to get Invective yet, especially as I did decide to give my Hunter another try. She feels weak as hell though; her jump is all floaty and horrible, her grenades and super are pretty crappy, all her gear is white/green.... yuck.
