So I bought Dragon Quest VIII

I am that level. And I beat him just now pretty easily without doing anything different.

That's because(I'm assuming), you were at full health and such when you tried to fight his second form again without needing to go up against the first one, what with you sucking the first time and getting wiped out n' all.

That or you just fucked up the first time with something.

Nah, it'll be because I reset the game. Hate losing half my money.

Hmm, pity I never experienced that considering I'm so hardcore and avoided ever getting my wiped out counter past fucking 0 nor did I ever fuck up and ended up getting the chance to, like you did. =D


Anyway, now with Dhoulmagus gone, it's time for things to get interesting for you I guess.

Yeah, but they always fall behind with the leveling, and she was the weakest one already.

I forgot if she falls behind or not or randomly levels up with you anyway(since sometimes that happens regardless of what fucked around with the removed character).

I doubt you'll level up much if not at all though since you'll just be going through a short trip.

Well I still hate it when games do that.

I had the same problem (Jessica died the turn before I beat Dhoulmagus) and it all works out eventually.

the level brackets are wide so it evens out at higher levels

Well, I've through Ortusk and the Dragon Graveyard and all that. I'm Rank C champion in the monster thing now as well. Now I've got find some sea map or something.
