I'm only around 100 Vanguard points from Rank 2, so I'll be able to buy some Legendary gear from Ikora Rey tomorrow which hopefully means I'll have some scope to levelling up a little more the next week. I might finally be able to have a crack at a Nightfall!

Xur is selling Patience and Time and Voidfang Vestments. They cost 30 coins together, but you should buy both if you can afford them. The Vestments are arguably the best PvP exotic for Warlocks as you can manipulate the game for infinite grenades (switch your grenade from the menu and it'll refill them).
Patience is definitely the best weapon for arc burn weeklies (Ice Breaker is a better sniper rifle overall). At first I thought it'd be extremely good for PvP, but the invisibility is actually a double-edged sword; it's harder for you to see and the enemies can still easily spot you because of the red light that all snipers rifles have when you aim. It's probably the best PvP sniper rifle, but it doesn't give a huge advantage as I'd originally thought.

So what should I blow my load on, so-to-speak? The Sniper Rifle or Voidfang? I don't snipe much, but then I probably won't use Voidwalker much for late-game activities either. Or do I wait until next week and save my coins?

fully upgraded exotic armour is 30 light so i'd probably go for that unless you already have a piece of armor

Yeah, I'd go for the vestments too. You need to level up to have access to the lvl 28 weekly and daily heroic and nightfall for better rewards. Didn't you make a second warlock? You can clear the weekly twice for more coins.

I made a Hunter but she's only level 9, so too low level to do much of anything yet.

Okay, that armour looks pretty badass. I'm now decked in in a couple of Legendary armour pieces, plus the Voidfang, so should be able to level fairly quickly towards 28 or so. yay!

Just hit level 26 and could go higher; two armour pieces have multiple level ups awaiting, but I don't have the reuqired materials to action them.  Still, I can attempt level 28 missions, the Nightfall and the Vault of Glass now, so that'll be something new.

Edit: I'm also sorry that I bitched about the Thorn bounty. Fair play, it was frustrating as hell to start with. The last two games though, something seems to have just clicked and as a result I've got forty two kills in those two games, and my score has rocketed to nearly 450/500. Ergo, I should be wrapping up the crucible part of the Bounty shortly, in addition to having been forced in getting really, miraculously bloody good at using Voidwalker Blink / Shotgun tactics on choke points in Control.

tldr; the game forced me to better myself.

No need to apologize. I've already completed the Nightfall this week, so I wouldn't get any rewards. I'm replaying it for my last exotic bounty.

My weapons all suck, that's why I'm so keen to get my hands on Thorn. (Only got the last part to do now, which seems to involve a stupidly-hard version of an existing strike. Should be... fun.)

My only void weapons were a level 20 Sniper, but I only had six bullets and my Heavy Rocket Launcher which had no ammo. My Scout Rifle primary simply wouldn't damage his shields and he kept one-shotting me to boot. Not cool.

Get. The. Fuck. In.

Exotic Helmet.

Thorn, Infinity and Invective are very good weapons for the Crucible, but I wouldn't use them in PvE.
Don't spend ascendant energy to fully upgrade Thorn's damage. I doubt you'll be using it for hard raid.

Raid helmet can only be found in hard raid, so it's actually worth leveling up your exotic one.

Oh, and stay away from Bad Juju and Super Good Advice's bounties. Those things suck.

Looking at my options, I think I'll put the exotic helmet in the vault for now, purely because I'm already wearing Voidfang Vestments and my existing legendary helmet offers sufficient benefits for the time being.

Will be looking at tackling Xyur over the next couple of days. Not looking forward to it.
