It's not really like VLR, the only major similarity is that there are people trapped inside a place and some of them die.

Did you choose hard for both difficulties? I went with hard logic but just normal, or whatever the next one down is called, for action.

I see, and Yes, I choose mean for both. it is quite tough but that aside... i really seem to like the class trials the non-stop debates and mini games sure add quite the spin.
Although i feel as though i may end up finishing the game too fast.... so i may slow down a bit
Spoiler:
Celeste sure made things tough in her class trail especially the bullet time i lost 3/4 of my health still...Finally got though it
Lets see moving on to the 4th Class trail now

wait does this difficulty setting change puzzles and stuff? Increased replay value? or is it just the same answer but more hints.

The only thing difficulty affects is the trials so I doubt it changes anything enough to warrant a second playthrough.

Dammit, Vita's like a treasure trove at the moment. Trigger Happy Havoc is on special offer at the moment. Worth eighteen quid for a digital copy?

I'm almost done with the last (I think) chapter of the second game and it's even crazier than the first. Would recommend.

It really annoys me that people bitch about simple name changes... Originaly Ultra dispair girls was called In JP absolute dispair girls. And Monoka was changed to Monoca....WOW one fucking letter.
What happened to the good ol days when folks solely talked about the game in its self? *sigh* Soooorrry i had to get that off my chest
Anyways buu already reported its announcement in the Vita thread so i suppose i ought to update heres the trailer
Announced VA's
Cristina Vee as Monaca
Erica Lindbeck as Kotoko
Tara Sands as Masaru
Erica Mendez as Nagisa
Michelle Ruff as Jataro
Matt Mercer as Haiji Towa
Cherami Leigh as Komaru Naegi
More as it comes out

I dislike the princess, the pokemaster, the chef, the camera girl and the dancer.
So I obviously avoided them in story but to finish island mode i need to spend time with them, they'll need to have some pretty deep stories not to annoy me.

Yeah my opinions on two are very mixed. It had amazing characters like fat byakuya, the crazy lucky guy, and the yakuza guy. But also characters who felt quirky for the sake of quirky i.e. gundam.
It also had some great cases like the first and last one in that game. I mean plotwise it was interesting, but the fact it was a parallel of the first game made it lose a lot of impact. I think overall the first game was much more an enjoyable experience. Although I think overall i prefer VLR as all actions in that feel like they are plot relevant, where in DR the inbetween bits are almost purely for character development as most of the plot is towards the end of the game in both.
I couldn't put down either D game though so in that sense I really liked them to. So yeah just not really sure what to think about them lol.

I guess that's true, its no VLR, but it does have its charm. Although i hope im not thinking that the murderers were cool or anything lol... But of course DR has no replay value whilst VLR does with its branching paths
Well i suppose thats good to hear. So make sure to finish off Dr2 at some point. but first things first your lets play and backlog take priority

I think next game to play will be Okami HD, I really should've beaten that game ages ago.
I do hope the new DR will be fun I almost certainly will play it hope we get a decent amount of story in it though, I don't feel like DR 2 gave me enough progression in the overarching plot to satisfy my curiosity.

Branching story paths don't equal replay value when you have to complete every single one for the story to make sense.

I'm certain theres a few endings which are reliant on nothing.

^ That. Although i no longer have the game to refresh my memory sadly. So i cant quite re check. but i suppose what neo said is true for at least the endings that actually hold useful info. *shrugs*
lol @ this vid
Anyway, here's footage from DR the beta version..... i kinda wish it was like that, except from those designs lol.
