| Hammer of the Gods.
Just a cheap 300/Clash of the Titans cash in about vikings, with a little bit of Apocalypse Now throw in at the end.
But the most memorable thing about it is the last scene, where the army is all lined and they charge at the camera. Realistic may be too generous, but up until that point the vikings did look realistic. Just guys covered in leather and fur and blood. The main female character was the same, fairly plain dress.
But then in that last scene she suddenly looks like she's dressed for quirky viking-themed fashion show, with tons of eye shadow and her hair gelled up into a ridiculous quiff. And she had never demonstrated any kind of fighting skill either, but suddenly she's at the head of the army just because she was the love interest.

| I just watched Frozen, and I think it was overrated. I found the songs tedious, and the jokes lame. I did like the big twist though, really caught me off guard. | |

Yeeeeeeah I just saw this and you can't help but feel this way. I liked certain things about this film, but I wouldn't say it's better than the first. I was actually dumbfounded when I saw that Rotten Tomatoes actually didn't rip the snot out of the movie.

| I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. Not sure why, but it certainly felt like it did a far better job of building up the world the original. | |

| Crawlspace.
Australian film. It's one of those small-military-team-gets-sent-into-a-secret-research-facility-to-sort-out-a-mysterious-accident type of films. And when the first monster showed up I was laughing my head off because it was so stupid. But then it's just piles on the plot and managed to take some surprising (albeit still quite stupid) turns and it ended up being better than I expected. It's from the Wolf Creek guys I think.

| I watched Free to Play, a documentary that follows three DotA2 players through a million dollar tournament. I expected it to be a fairly shallow advert for the game itself, given that Valve produced it, but whoever directed the film decided to focus more on the players themselves, their lives, the reasons why they're playing video games for money and the pressures they have to deal with along the way. | |

| I've recently watched the following. I've been on a horror kick recently:
- Pontypool - Stake Land - The Divide - Kill List
Pontypool is good. A small Canadian city experiences an outbreak of a new disease that turns people mad, as told from the perspective of a radio DJ and his crew. Worth watching for the insane twist on the traditional zombie format.
Stake Land is pretty good. It's basically Zombieland, if Zombieland took itself seriously and had vampires instead of zombies. A kid and a badass vampire hunter travel north to escape the vampire infested United States. Worth a watch if you have an hour and a half to kill. The Divide is abysmal. New York is hit with an atomic bomb and the movie follows a group of survivors who take refuge in an underground bunker. Your bog standard Lord of the Flies/Humans are the real monsters/bottle episode which has the unique distinction of making me feel filthy by proxy. The gratuitous use of slow motion pushes a 75 minute plot to about two hours, and the sheer depravity depicted made me want to go have a shower.
Kill List is fucking weird. A British hitman is compelled to begin a new contract by his partner and it leads them into some very dark territory. To elaborate further would be to spoil the movie but it did not go in the direction I thought it was going in at ALL. I'm still mulling over this movie in my head trying to figure it out. I think it's great and I'd recommend watching just so you can experience it yourself. It's also the only one on this list that's actually scary, so it has that going for it.

| I recently saw Monsters University and it was surprisingly good. I'd heard some complaints about it being one of those underdog-becomes-the-champion-just-by-wanting-it-because-it's-a-kids-movie stories, but it really wasn't. | |

| How can anyone think that if they saw the whole film through? Did they just stop watching before the final 30 or so minutes of the movie? | |

Well that explains it I guess, you should really change to something better. The video is of Danny Trejo attaching a grappling hook to moving helicopter blades and using it to spin around with a machete and behead a bunch of grunts.
