Quite frankly, I'd rather put my faith in a "guy who dresses up like a bat (who) clearly has issues" and does good well than a dickweed who's own selfish mistakes have fucked over his family on multiple occassions.
well thats personal prefernce
thats nothing to do with why the individual generally says they can relate to spiderman its not uncommon that you hear that i don't htink i've ever heard anyone say they can relate to batman
but wait you say he fucked over his family on multiple occasions
what exactly are you talking about

General populace wouldn't know fuck all about Spider-Man's origins either if it weren't for the film.
Parker is an average guy who gets superpowers, and later is shocked into using them for something worthwhile instead of petty crap.
Bruce is billionaire's son with a fear of bats who sees both parents murdered, blames himself, and then he just gets on with his life for a while because Batkid would be stupid. Then as a man he's shocked into action or whatever, goes off around the world training in just about every fucking form of martial art ever, as well being fantastically smart and an excellent detective, comes back and decides the system isn't strong enough to fight crime. So he makes himself into a symbol.
Not as relatable at all, but it's fucking Batman. His appeal comes from his own dilemmas, not from projecting your own onto him. The classic ones being his own influence on the criminally insane, and how he sees himself as different from them, despite dressing up and prowling around like a lunatic (usually emphasised the most by the Joker).
It's like Superman. Everyone says he's too perfect and crap, but so what? That's the character, and it doesn't stop him from being awesome in the hands of a good writer. I dunno, Spider-Man's problems are too normal to be interesting for me.

the other is a high school/college student
ppl prefer heroes to be there age you can't relate to ppl older, and you can only relate to ppl younger then you to a certain degree
the general thing that these guys is talking about is that you cn't relate to spiderman
but fact is if you had super powers you'd consider doing somehitng with them if any of us get money we're not gonna be doing anything involving being a vigilante

Goddamn, preferring a superhero because you can relate to them is fucking stupid. They're superheroes. You do not relate to them.

Yes, as superheroes, you're supposed to worship their awesomeness and enjoy their epic struggles! Screw relating to their alter egos, you do not shoot web or dress up bats to fight for justice, people! Hell, i'd say, the more unique and cool you are as your alter ego, the more interesting you can be!
COME ON SUPERMAN, YOU ARE PERFECTION!

I'll say this. A good Superman story is better than a good Batman or Spider-Man story.

This. Spider-Man's problem go along the lines of "Oh no, I'm late for class, Connor's gonna be dissapointed". While Batman's problems are more like "My friend's daughter was shot, and he himself was tormented and almost driven insane."

What happens when you try to relate to your heroes:
Announcer: "And now, representing Earth for the grand limbo... Hermes!" Kid: "Hermes, you're the best! I wanna be like you when I grow up!" Hermes: "Kid, no! The bar's too low! Your spine won't take it!" Kid: "I'm just like Hermes! *leans back* I'm just like Hermes! *leans back* I'm just like-" *SNAP!* Hermes: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Batman is coolest. I think. Not quite sure. However, he's incredibly smart, he's badass, he's a detective, he knows just about every martial art on earth, and he's got the Batmobile.

The reason the first Spider-Man film is the best one is because it's more about him trying to be a hero, rather than trying to reconcile being a hero with being a normal guy at the same time.

Actually I go by the comics. The Spiderman comics make it interesting for Spiderman to live a normal life. It's better in comics, since he's out of college and dosen't deal with being late to class.
Although what's he's been doing with Mephisto and stuff is insane. Anyway it's better to see a hero dealing with normal life, then one becoming a hero.
Bruce has it easy.he's a billionaire. Sure he fights more dangerous battles, but he has a lot of flexibility with his normal life.

I like Spiderman better because he has a sense of humor, I just love the comics. It's a nicer atmosphere, and less depressing.
Batman is cooler overall, and I love watching him.
If I had to pick it depends. Is batman fighting Joker(My Favorite fictional character, next to Sylar), is he working with Superman? Is he with one of his side-kicks, what gadgets. His comics might be more interesting, or more boring if there's people with 17 powers aroudn him.

No, that was SM3.
Spider-Man 2 was the best one. The only thing annoying thing about it is Harry being a total bitch, then again, that's a pretty accurate portrayal to his character.
Overall, it was interesting, had amazing fight scene choreography, didn't have Peter do nothing when he stopped being Spidey, etc. It was all overall an enjoyable package that improved what the first film offered. It's no surprise that critics considered it the best Superhero film ever(apparently until Dark Knight came along).

well i weren't going on about him being relatable
spider-man
Spoiler:
why i like spider-man is simply he isn't ever portrayed as invincible, he always seems to get his ass kicked and basically every single one of his villains could kick his ass
he's got a decent mix of powers without being overall overpowered in any one sense. the powers he gained before the another day thing or whatever it was called may have been a it overpowered, but he don't have those any more.
batman i mainly like purely for the joker who is one of my all time fave villains (if not my fave), without the joker i don't think i would of liked batman at all. also this whole time to plan thing just irritates the hell out of me
i'm just saying this is why ppl like him, its said often
whether you think thats its dumb if ppl like being to relate to a hero is valid saying you can relate to him and batman the same is retarded
but like i said it mainly comes down to if your a marvel or a dc
