also an easy way to level up is to go to shellac with a bunch of the hang over medicine and order the two most expensive alcohols alternatively. it's pricy but it beats taking out all the hostesses back to back.
i think tanimura doesn't get that much exp even after all his sub stories

I made sure kazuma was drunk throughot every game i've played, there's a couplpe of substories linked to it in at least 1 of the games.

You can spoil Haruka? I'm guessing this is Premium Adventure only, right? I didn't save after clearing the game, so I'm still playing the Final Chapter.
Ultimate Skill is MUCH easier this time. There are no grades based on your completion time and Super Mack is a wimp. Also, you're right. Tanimura does receive l experience. I didn't avoid any fight and did all of his stuff, except for the hostesses and IF7-R, and he only got to level 18. Kiryu gets the most experience.
I've completed most of the lists and even cleared IF7-R with everyone. All I have left to do now is the Colisseum, the fighter-maker, a few heat actions, the modding and the minigames, but I'm fairly sure that I won't be able to complete all the minigames. I remember pool giving me A LOT of trouble in 3 and I don't even know what shogi and mahjong are supposed to be.

ya haruka is onl PA mode. did you do brawl 8? i can't figure it out. if you just want the trphies. shogi is really easy, mahjong is fairly annoying though.
shogi all you have to do is promote a piece by moving your piece behind enemy lines or i think you can put a captured piece behind too.
mahjong all you need is a 7 pair which is one of the harder hands to get. 7 pair is pretty self explanatory
never mind i didn't realise you get weapons in brawl 8

chou, in fighter maker, don't worry bout the tournament prize money decreasing. you'll get more money in the exhibitions over time.
i found the second guy to be the cash cow due to his speed and tech cap. i pulled in 10 million for dojo upgrades with him.
think i'm about to give up on haruka's mood. if the time of day doesn't solve my problem i quit

I've never played a game before with so many awkward/silly moments like dressing up the hostesses as school students or maids, the dialogues at the hostesses' club, the massage and the table tennis minigames... (for example: - "Oh, Mr. Tanimura I love your muscles" - "I look even better naked", or while dating a girl at the spa and she says "My boobs are still growing bigger" and you have to press buttons to imagine her naked).
Even one of Saejima's students loves to stare himself naked at the mirror.
Those actually sound like stuff I usually say.

What the...? Most amazing combo I've ever seen in a Yakuza game. Akiyama is truly the most stylish character.
FINAL BOSS SPOILERS
Spoiler:
Ingenious.

thats what makes akiyama the easiest character to use, his ability to sidetep out of a combo makes him a beast

Kiryu can do this too, but unfortunately not when he's on HEAT mode.
As for the easiest character, that's Saejima. He only has 3 tactics:
(sidestep) Square, square, square, triangle, triangle, triangle, Heat stomp = his best combo (breaks guard and with Herculean Spirit he cannot be interrupted at all while performing it) and
Triangle = as another good move, are his best option for 99,9% enemies you encounter.
Grab, triangle, stomp or launch to a wall to use the Bell Ringer heat action for the very few individuals that can counter the above.
EDIT: He also has the same move as Kiryu that stops opponents from attacking while guarding (L1 + triangle), but with his super-armored moves he doesn't really need to guard.
At least Akiyama and Kiryu take some skill to use them effectively.

And so, my quest to conquer the mini-games of Y4 has begun...
Poker, Baccarat, Roulette and Blackjack were (very) easy. Especially if you use the items you find in the lockers.
Panchinko was fun. I still don't know how it works, but Jacky Bryant of Virtua Fighter is cool. I cleared it with the Get-Rich-Quick card.
Bowling was as easy as it was in Y3. No problems here.
Next on my list are the traditional Japanese gambling games, cee-lo, cho-han, koi-koi and oicho-kabu. Not hard, but IIRC, you needed to win quite a lot of chips in these, so it'll probably take some time. I particularly enjoyed playing the one with the cards (Koi-koi I think) in Y3.

pachinko is easy when you understand
EDIT: sorry the following only seems to apply for the aladdin one not the VF one
1) your only objective is to spin the wheel in order to activate jackpot or chance mode
2)during jackpot mode you have to shoot the balls into a specific area on the left side of the board.
3)during chance mode you have to hit the red rectangle on the right side of the board. you should notice a part of the board on the left side that opens and closes, when it opens you have to shoot the balls into the opening so the balls go into the center of the board, there is a rotating piece that blocks a hole in the center you'll have to get the ball into the hole while the rotating piece isn't blocking it. when you do that do the same thing as if it were jackpot except on the right side
this is pretty much the general idea for pachinko. however i'm not sure what those scenes are about when when required to push the button
