Yakuza 4 ;D

i've only played the early parts of the game and only got a chance to use akiyama.levels in the demo aren't far off to what you can achieve early on. iirc kazuma was level 7 in the game which in previous games was high but the leveling system has changed greatly and i actually prefer the new one over the old as now you don't need half a million exp to "side step out of a combo". i'm already level 7 with akiyama

instead of distributing thousands of exp, the new leveling system now give you "soul" points upon level up which are used to learn new skills and health and heat gauges automatically go up. you earn 3 soul points on level up and skills range from 1-4 soul points in order to learn. leveling is still balanced as some skills require you to be a certain level or to learn other skills in order unlock more advanced stuff. heat skills that can continue into multiple hits are learned differently as well. simply using them enough in battle will allow your character to use the advanced versions of these heat moves.

new areas that i've found include access to some buildings previously unavailable in kamurocho as well as underground and rooftop areas. i'll post more when i play more

edit: chases have been changed in which you now can pick up items and use them to attack your target. you can also do quick turns which seems pretty essential as it helps not only to maneuver corners but gives you a slight speed increase while doing it as wel, it sort of like a quick dash while turning a corner rather than a quick turn. while being chase i think you can use heat move but i scrubbed it so i don't know exactly what they do and that's all i can remember for now....

edit: did two more, chases one where i ran and one where i chased. heat moves while being chased stuns your enemy for a brief period allowing you to put distance between you. it seems like the enemy doesn't just grab you now but shoulder rush you like you do them. they can also throw things at you to lower your stamina bar so now you have to listen to them yell and roll to dodge the object by pushing square.

while chasing, enemies can do heat moves to you and briefly stun you, but this also gives you a chance to counter and take a chunk of stamina from them. countering requires multiple button presses, i was unprepared for the button presses after the first one to dodge so i'm not sure if the button presses just went by fast or not, but i failed 3 out of 4 hits so i'm not sure i did that much damage to the enemies stamina.

I was going to ask you to put spoiler tags for any story events, but then I remembered I was such an idiot that I'd actually watched a vid of the final boss fight a year ago. And I still haven't forgotten it.

i guess you could call it japanese slots. other than shooting balls down a machine to get the wheel to spin which gets the slot reels spinning, i'm not entirely sure how to win at it. i tried reading the tips but it was one of those instants where i can't read it due to my standard tv

i got almost 15 hours on my game already, but i have done almost all sub stories that have appeared and i've been playing a bunch of mini games.

i forgot to mention it is easier to find all sub stories because there is an informant in one of the bars in the champion district that gives you a general area to search in

i made a hostess into a number one girl. at first i liked training them but after watching cut scene after cut scene of outfit changes, it got really really annoying. and it doesn't look like you can skip it either.

fought the second major boss and at first he kinda scared me but then i whooped his ass......

also the first major boss was so damn easy i didn't realize he was one.....

Yeah i hate how it drags out, i got really bored in 2 interviewing the girls i thien started guessing and just gave them presents.

it was just the cut scenes that annoy me in this. you only train one girl at a time i think

i sort of found out how to play pachinko and got the trophy for it. also got the shogi trophy and now i'll probably never play those games again
