This game is the first one I nearly got to complete Platinum, but I backed off since I don't have the mood to play "Trick Races" and every extra mode if it's not a Spider-Man game

wait so this game actually has decent combat?
It's actually sloppier moves, but with Ezio you get two wrist blades at one point

There is one flaw this game shares with the first, when they jerk off with the sword in a fight you can't do anything until they get hit by a sword
Other than that, this game isn't as much a PAIN IN THE BALLS as the first when it comes to fights, not something that you have to kill 10 soldiers at once, then one pulls you and three more soldiers enter the fight if you don't break his grab, or while you kill 2-5 more soldiers join in, or the worst of them all, you kill every jerk on screen, want to leave to heal, all of a sudden a few more jerks recognize you even as you walk like a scholar and just want to leave the dead bodies behind you.
The first game suffers from that flaw, at least the way I have it on PC

Except that Assassin's Creed 2 is a really good game. The ending was kind of a kick in Ezio's teeth though.

Desmond's line sums up what I think of that game ending

I'm glad the ending completely dismissed Ezio. He deserved it. That character was a complete waste of my time.
You know Ezio's getting a second game, right?

It actually looks pretty good. There's co-op/multiplayer assassinations and challenges so there'll probably be more replay value. Also you start off playing as post-AC2 Ezio so there hopefully won't be any bullshit training section where you earn all your weapons back one by one.

Gonna rage if that happens.

I might try it out if this game still interests me after i finish it. Although its fun the annoyance of traveling between levels and the fact its stupidly easy might put me off a replay. Is the sequel harder. It is still a fun game though.
The sequel is easier, but the missions are much more diverse.
You can make it harder for yourself by not buying good armour or weapons.
How can the game be easier then this o_O. Despite the clunky combat i haven't died once yet i'm in memory block 3. Now i've got sword counter i'm untouchable.
I guess the guard thing would just make it less annoying. I hate the having to go extra slow for some arbitrary reason to not piss a guard off.
I can imagine the sword counter would make life really easy that is completely broken. Still the game is great fun so i'll probably play through the series.
The combat is a lot more forgiving. The AI is exactly the same, but you have more abilities. You can also block with bare fists and the hidden blade, so messing up a counter or disarm has no penalty. Fighting with the hidden blade in the first one would get you quickly killed unless you were proficient with the counter.
