Anyways I'm finishing up the character encounter lines topic.

Having beaten Cloud's initial story segment, then the first chapter of Chaos Impulse I went back through story mode again, only this time I picked up every treasure chest, and fought everyone who looked too tough the first time around, even beating a Lvl 38 Ultimecia with stupidly high health. Problem was, one of them was another Cloud, around five levels higher than my Lvl26. Not a problem in itself, except he was equipped with items that clearly stated he was too low level to have them, and not only that but he had some freaking sweet moves too. His item setup meant that he recovered bravery in half a second or so, and every time he knocked me into the air I got hit with Omnislash V5, doing around 2000 damage. On a few occasions, the fight was over in less than three seconds.

I ended up fleeing, tail between my legs. Are these kind of opponents fairly commonplace?

On a side note, I tired playing with the 'command-based' fighting style. How utterly dull that was.

These game is unfair to you at the beginning. Then when you level them up high enough the only problem they serve is as cannon fodder.

It was odd. I went through Sephiroth with ease, beat a much higher level Ultimecia (though damn she can play keep away!) yet this guy tore me apart. It took me by surprise a little, I just wasn't expecting to be so... humiliated. Ah well,I'll pay him a return visit when I've levelled up a bit, then I'll see how I fare.

Scarily, I just checked the in game clock, and I've notched up six hours of play today.. I didn't get the game til 4.30pm either. Yep, time for bed methinks.

-_- So I'm not the only one hating to fight a higher leveled Cloud than myself. I'm just gonna Max him out and then fight him evenly. I was trying to do a thing where Old Cloud battle New Cloud (10 levels higher than Old Cloud), No BG music (As I was intending to put "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson in it's place.) and I was gonna upload it and give it the Title "Cloud's Gonna Make a Change".

...But, No, AC Cloud had to be a dickhead and not lose to me. -_-

i love using cloud because the CPU tries to block ultima weapon but, it's special effect breaks all blocks so i end up getting a shit load of brave.

Went back through Cloud's Destined Odyssey this morning, and fought the other Cloud again, though this time I was lvl 38 to his 29, and I had a few new items. Still, he beat me a few times (largely due to me losing sight of him as he dodged about), but right when I needed it, Magic Pot kicked in, I stole his bravery them managed to connect with Cross Slash into Omnislash. Eat that you cheating mother.

On a side note, I've been trying a few of the other characters, and the first thing that hits home is how rubbish the default attacks are. Sephiroth, for instance, his default HP airborne attack is only any use when you're right above your target, if they're airborne too, then it's useless. Ultimecia was crap too, and while I appreciate that she's a ranged fighter, the cpu opponents seemed to have little trouble dodging her moves and getting into melee range whereupon Ulti is slightly worse than useless. Warrior of Light is good though.

Kuja's the best ranged fighter, try him out.

How are you guys levelling your Chaos fighters? Cloud is level 51, yet the best I've done with Chaos is a level 2 (yes, level two.. pathertic, huh?) Seph. WIth no story mode to play through, the badguys seem harder to level... am I missing something obvious?

Exdeath trick.

Just fight Exdeath at level 100 and use the Mimic something to get their bravery and shitloads of EXP.

I've maxed every character's level now.

I'mma gonna data install. My game at times lagged during before a match started and semi-froze for like 4 seconds during a cutscene, damn my lack of patience.
