Sequel’s Script Already Written? February 18th, 2009
Sci-FiNow talked with Justin Chatwin (Goku) who spilled to them that the sequel to Dragonball Evolution has already been written.
Dragonball: Evolution, the first live-action adaptation of the popular manga, hasn’t even hit our screens yet, but the script for a proposed sequel has already been written, according to Justin Chatwin, who plays Goku in the upcoming film.
Speaking to SciFiNow last month, the 26-year-old actor said that he was signed on for potential sequels, and that he was excited about the prospect: “If there were to be a sequel I think it… well, I know that it would go to a really interesting place, because they already have the second script written.” When pressed for details, Chatwin revealed a little more about the direction of the celluloid version of the franchise. “It’s really, really cool. The second one goes more into the whole legacy and the genealogy of Dragonball. It goes more in-depth into a real Dragonball series, the kind of intergalactic world of Dragonball.”
DBthemovie.com was tipped similar information earlier by a trusted scooper. The tentative title for this alleged script was Dragonball Reborn, but of course nothing has been green lit yet.

I wonder if Marsters will be back as Piccolo Jr. Actually I wonder how that whole issue will be tackled in DBE. I think the egg laying thing has been scrapped as far as Piccolo creating warriors is concerned.

To scrap Piccolo Jr would change a lot in terms of character development though, particularly if Gohan is introduced at a later stage.

Wasn't movie Piccolo originally a good guy who was wrongfully imprisoned, which is what turned him into a bad guy? Because if so, the way he becomes a good guy could be like how the actual Piccolo Jr. becomes a good guy. Thanks to the goodness of Goku/Gohan/whatever.
And I doubt they'd let Marsters go.

They could just have King Piccolo carry on and take Piccolo Jr's role. Just give the film the ending that that the 23rd budokai had with Goku letting Piccolo go, although I doubt that'll happen. Fighting for the whole film and then just letting the bad guy go seems incredibly unlikely for a project like this.
Although having said that, Spider-man 3 did it (I mean, it was came off pretty crappy, but they did it). They could probably do the egg thing as a one off right at the end, people would buy it. Without the previous context of the tournaments you can skip the Piccolo Jr saga easily and just move into the alien stuff.

From the trailers it looks like he tried to conquer Earth last time too.

While it does look like an okay fight scene, it's weird and kind of annoying to have it in such an enclosed space. Feels all Bourne Identity and stuff.

That has nothing to with anything.
The fighting looked pretty terrible, and they do the dub thing where instead of exerting yourself with one long "Hyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!", they grunt with each punch like "Hyahyahyahyahyahyahyahya!!!"

Some clips further down the page. It's looking better still.
Although the acting seems pretty hammed up.

April 10th for the UK I think. In Japan it's either out already, or will be shortly.

I'm gonna go to the premiere. Fuck homework.
Wonder how watching the dub (japanese) will feel after watching the original...

It's nice to see someone put Vegeta DTX in his place. I saw another trailed for DBE at the cinema the other day, and it looked like pants. I'll still go and watch it, more out of curiosity than anything else.
