| Thought I'd make a new topic to record my general thoughts as I played through it. Well, I've played it for a bit now, and it's a pretty fun game. So far the combat is nothing but pressing X, but I've only done the basic tutorial missions and haven't bought any upgrades yet. It's still fun though, and the animations look great.
The general swinging around is fun too, although it does feel a bit weird. Mainly because there's no momentum or physics to it. You can swing the web out anywhere and then steer yourself anywhere. Never played Spider Man 2 but people bang on about it's swinging mechanic and I assume it must have been like that for people to like it so much. But this gets the job done, and as with the combat, it does look good. All the flips and turns look natural.
Moving from the ground or air to walls can be confusing, because it happens fast and often the camera can't keep up. But it only takes a second to get itself it order again. Far from gamebreaking.
The graphics are pretty good. Nothing amazing but very nice as far as the main character models are concerned. Although in the cutscenes there are a few of those white dots that the IGN review mentioned. Voice acting so far isn't that great either.
A nice touch is how the population of the city react to you. If you swing down and land wearing the red suit, some people will generally stop and clap, or cheer you on. Whereas in the balck suit they don't care or might even walk away.

| I'm not sure yet. There probably are at some point. I still don't think I've finished all the tutorials yet, just been swinging around. But you get missions like "stop 5 crimes" and there'll be loads of crimes everywhere and you can stop any of them. But I've done that mission, and haven't started a new one yet, and there's no crimes going on at the moment. If someone is injured (by you or something else) you can pick them up and deliver them to a hospital. | |

| Ah, I was planning on going all out with the black suit on my first playthrough, but I like having the people cheer for me. At the moment I'm just standing in the street and there's 3 people around me chanting "GO SPIDEY!" | |

Probably. And hitting a pedestrian seems impossible. Although throwing cars at them isn't.

| yeah i guess hitting them is un-spidey like but you can be evil in theory by just injuring them and not helping them is there a metre letting you know how evil you rare or anything | |

| I think so. Above the health meter there's a red bar and a picture of the red suit eyes (it stays on the res suit whether I switch suit or not). That might be it, but the meter doesn't seem to go up or down or anything. Maybe it's only affected by missions or something. | |

| Well I hear there's 4 endings, so there's probably some incentive to go for a middle ground too. | |

| I've also noticed that the web doesn't have to attach to anything when you're swinging. You can swing all the accross an open park. Although the game does make it so that when there are no buildings around you have to swing low, and you can only swing higher when there are higher buildings and so on. | |

| Yeah. If you stop your swing and just dangle, you can angle the camera up and the web just disappears in the sky. | |

| Well, it seems the only collectables in the game are little spider tokens. But I've read there are over 2000 of them, so it should take a while to get 'em. Got 70 or so already. | |

| i hope you don't need to get all 2000 to unlock something cool that sounds like effort | |

| Well it controls the level up system it seems. You buy new moves with EXP points, and you upgrade health and swing speed and stuff with the collectables. I think you have to get 2000 to get the highest level. However I've also heard that once you get half of them the rest appear on the map. | |

| Hey, you're a general Marvel fan right? I found this big building a big black sphere on top of it and a weird hologram projecting out of it. What's up with that?
Also seen a couple of Stark Tech bilboards around.

| Starting to upgrade my web-strike now, and it's quite a bit of fun. The combat and the general swinging around really do mix together pretty seamlessly if you have the controls down. | |

| Clarified the title because for some reason it seems the PS3 version of the game has more numerous and more obvious graphics issues. | |

>_______> It looks to be the truth. The IGN review was based on the PS3 version, and they made out seam breaks and screen tearing and slowdown to be a pretty big problem, as well as admitting that the PS3 version ran a lot worse. Playing on the 360, I notice some minimal seam breaks during the cutscenes, and some occasional minor slowdown. It shouldn't be happening but it's not a problem in practical terms.
