| I still find it entertaining, I'm just baffled by some of the changes made- those mentioned above being the most recent ones - which do take the shine off it somewhat. I'm well aware that it was never actually directly stated in the manga that Luffy was able to focus Gear Second into an individual limb, but some things don't need to be said. A picture paints a thousand words, and Oda has been pretty explicit in what he has shown of Luffy's abilities post TS.

| Well there's a certain amount creative license Toei have to take with animating still frames, but really they should at least pay attention to important details like that. | |

| Yes, quite nice that one. Nice to see everyone back together and even the Luffy / Rayleigh training filler was good. Still a few too many moments where the artwork looks a bit patchy, mind. | |

| Real, and it was a panning shot, so you could enjoy the image for an entire five seconds. | |

| What is the general consensus on Thriller Bark? I just started the arc today. | |

| Its alright not as good as some earlier arcs, but the 'boss fight' is pretty fucking awesome. Also has what i consider the funniest scene in the series. | |

| Thriller Bark was pretty boring for the most part, though the last third makes up for it. The fights are tremendously exciting, and it also features my favourite moment of OP so far. Yes, I mean that bit with Zoro. | |

| I think the pacing suits the anime better than the manga. The pacing in the manga seemed a bit off, really fast one week, hellishly slow the next. | |

| This just seems like it's getting gradually faster, which is the way it's supposed to be. | |

| Dammit, just when you think the anime's having a decent patch they go and add in more stupid filler bits that don't make sense given what we know from later.
I'll keep spoilers out of it, but Hody landing a hit on Zoro? Zoro struggling to dodge Hody's attacks? No. The whole point of that scene in the manga was to show how strong Zoro is now, hence why he manages to one-shot Hody underwater without taking a single attack in response. Maybe the anime thought they needed to make Hody seem more threatening, but to do so by cheapening one the standout badass moments since the time skip just baffles me.

| Did Luffy localise his Gear Second in the manga again when he punched the weird thing? | |

| Toei need to pay more attention, seemingly little details like that can make all the difference.
About the Zoro vs Hody thing, it's pretty stupid that they make him stronger in the anime, but I really don't think it made him seem threatening. He was having a lot of difficulty with Zoro in the water, Zoro really wasn't doing a lot though, just blocking really, and when he attacked he one shot him.

| Thing is, the manga makes a huge point of Usopp being terrified that Zoro is fighting someone even stronger than Arlong underwater, only for him to check in on it and see Zoro has already won.
There's never a mention of Zoro passing out, never a sign that he's struggling remotely. Showing Hody landing hits on Zoro prior to that is nonsense though. It's all well and good to say Zoro's only blocking, but if he's struggling to breathe then it would suggest he's blocking because that's all he can do, that he's not getting a chance to attack which is daft because we see a moment later than he really is faster than Hody, even underwater.

| 553 was a joke. The sudden and dramatic increase in art quality to show Luffy putting the boot into Hody was fine, but to then regress back to the typical of late artwork looked absurd - witness Zoro's bizarre strut, and the deformed 'friend or foe - you decide!' pose, which looked great in the manga here just looked terrible.

| Thankg god they didn't milk the Zoro/Usopp/Brook escape scene. That said, Luffy's haki release looked weird. | |

| Not sure where to put this, but I'm almost caught up with the sub finally. I read about Eneru's space adventure thing on the wiki. Did I miss something or was this not explored in the anime? | |
