xbox exclusive now, i cant see the logic with square enix doing this unless they think they'll make more from microsoft than they will from sony sales

The last one didn't do as well as they expected (but only because they expected way too much). Guaranteed cash from MS must be a nicer prospect than risking "low" sales again. But still fuck them.

There's no possible way for an Xbone exclusive to outsell a PS3/360/PC multiplat, Microsoft's pockets must be pretty deep.

MS must've paid millions for that. I'm expecting this to be a timed exclusive with a definitive edition being released on ps4.

Eventually it still sold really well, it just didn't move the unrealistic numbers hopped for in the opening period.

Also, maybe I'm reading between the lines here, but IIRC it's not been said to be an XO exclusive, it's an "Xbox exclusive", meaning 360 might get a look in as well.

the headline gives it away sim, Rise of the Tomb Raider is now exclusive to Xbox One.

The original story I read merely said it was an Xbox exclusive.

The fact that anyone thinks people care about timed exclusivity baffles me. Surely no one is going to buy a console in order to get a game a month earlier?

The exclusivity periods keep getting longer, these days they're more along the lines of a year.

Once again, Microsoft using it's power and wealth to get exclusive games...............for less than a year and we poor PC and PS4 user will get the definitive version a year later. OH POOR ME!

Pretty much.  There huge news seems completely insignificant and seemed to garner more hate then popularity.

Squenix will be fine no one will ignore FFXV or KH3. MS have just pissed off ppl more if its possible.

it sounds even more stupid when you realise it's probably releasing in the same time frame as their new Halo, being end of 2015.

it'll be drowning in all the Halo promotion and hype.

that might make the whole thing even worse as it blatantly shows even more how much of a cash grab this really is. they just took the money without even talking to the other major platform holder that their game used to be on.
