| I take it Gran Soren is the first sort of 'hub city'?
Is there a way to force your pawn to use a certain spell whenever you want? For instance, fire boon? Or is it just down to the personality of the pawn based on the questions?
I can see myself getting into this though, I was having fun with the different archery abilities.

| It's the only hub city.
Regarding the pawns, you can't command a pawn to use a specific spell or skill, but pressing the left and right directional buttons will call for your pawns' help, and they will use one of their enchanting spells or heal you, but you can't actually pick out the exact move you want them to use.
And yes, the personality inclinations also contribute to how they work in battle. If you want to change them, you can purchase personality-changing elixers from this old man pawn's shop at the encampment. You'll need rift crystals, though.

| Ah well, she'll be right. I assume if I was on full health the pawn wouldn't try to heal me? And maybe have a better chance of using a buff? | |

| She'll buff you. Also, hire my Tobias pawn(although he doesn't look much like Tobias now considering I switched out his glasses for some other headgear). | |

| What level were you at when you beat the game Sora? I'm currently at level 50 - Spoiler:
and have just gotten the Dragonforged quest, so I guess I'm near the end of the game now.
Vocation wise, I've gone Mage -> Sorc -> Magic Knight, and it's been a blast. MK is godly, set up defensive sigils to stop stuff getting near you, and use Great Cannon to take down anything in sight. My pawn has maxed out Strider, Fighter, Warrior and is one level away from finishing Ranger. Basically, I'm focusing on the magic classes while she does the strength classes.

| Oh, and inclinations make a huge difference to how a pawn will act. Having a fighter or warriro pawn with the Guardian inclination is a very bad thing - yes, they'll still use their skills to draw aggro, but their inclination means they will not leave your side, so they'll basically pull all the enemies towards you.
So far, I believe a mage is best set up Ultilitarian / Medicant, meaning they'll buff and heal as required, whilst fighter / warrior types seem to work best with either scather / mitigator (meaning they focus on either the largest or weakest threats first respectively) or Ultilitarian again, which seems to ensure they use their taunts to draw aggro on a more reliable basis.

| I'm pretty sure I went with a mage inclined to support rather than attack, at least I certainly hope I did. I guess I'll find out when I get some real combat, haha. | |

| You can check quite easily. Press start, open the "Status" menu, tab to the pawn you wish to view, then scroll down to the "Profile" tab. It will list primary and secondary inclinations. | |

I was at level 51. Now I'm level 62 after doing a bunch of Everfall stuff, although I haven't played much the past couple of days(and not at all yesterday). For vocations I went Strider -> Assassin -> Warrior -> Fighter -> Warrior again -> Assassin again. The strength augments from the fighter, warrior and Assassin classes really make you powerful. Top that off with decent equipment and using the gouge moves from Assassin's sword skills, giant enemies become your play thing.

| The magic augments from Mage and Sorceror make you really powerful. :p
Magic classes use the magick stat, rather than strength to calculate damage, so my magic knight, despite having a strength value of only 200 odd, still hits really bloody hard on account of my 700+ magic stat.

Oh cheers, I'll check that next I play it.

| Just beat it, level 51 after 51 hours. - Spoiler:
Dragon was quite easy, just like the Drake in Devilfire Grove, only bigger, with more health and longer reach.
Oddly, Quina was my love interest, despite the fact I'd not seen here since the opening cinematic and I'd been trying to woo the Duchess, obviously without success. Was also pleasantly surprised to see the game world changed a bit in the wake of the wyrm's defeat.

Don't think much of the change. Aside from a few new quests on the boards and stronger enemies popping up all over the place, everything big'll be happening in Gran Soren.
Also, when you reach a certain point where you'll get a quest to search for 20 wakestones in this certain place, after collecting them, DON'T give them to the person asking for 'em once you're done unless you want to start New Game+.
Also, regarding the quest boards, be on the look out for the one quest challenging you to a fight at The Shadow Fort. A certain old foe'll be there, and it's one of the most fun bosses in the game(along with a superior version of this foe in the post-game dungeon).

| - Spoiler:
Yeah, walked out of Cassardis and suddenyl found myself genuinely struggling against a handful of goblins and wolves. It was a bit of a shock because I haven't actually struggled in combat for the past twenty or so hours, and to suddenly have the difficulty rise again is unexoected but most welcome. Feeling genuine apprehension about crossing the mountain in the darkness en route to Gran Soren once more was quite exhilarating.
Got to Gran Soren, was immediately attacked by a wyvern. Put him down, entered Gran Soren - holy shit, the Duke is such a schmuck. I really wish I'd been able to fulfill my previous aim of boning his wife. That would have really pissed him off. Also, the equipment available is suddenly a lot more powerful, and vastly more expensive, with some pieces costing half a million gold. Ouch.
I'm also resisting the idea of changing my pawns vocation again - all she's got left to master are mage and sorcerer, but neither seems a good fit for her stats. Not sure what I want her to be - currently a ranger, do I stick with that, or should I change her back to Strider? Speaking of which, I'm one level away from maxing MKnight and unsure if I should revert to Sorc for a few levels or try out Magick Archer. Not sure if low level skills would be up to taking on the newly powered up enemies.
I also found the quest you're referring to, on a notice board in Cassardis, and I'm in the process of heading there now to complete it. When the football's over, anyway.
Really, really enjoyed the game thus far. Not perfect, not by a long shot, but it's brave enough to do something a little different and for the most part it's pretty successful.

| How does the Ur-dragon work?
Am I right in saying that offline it's a set opponent, but the onine is basically ever evolving and gets harder with every iteration? Kinda like a dragon version of Superman's villain, Doomsday....?

| Yeah. Also, the online one, having the online aspect be its gimmick and all, has a shared health bar between all players and requires way more than one person to take it down. The last one took like a day to be defeated. | |

| Yay. Just managed to be one of the peeps who got the killing blow on the latest online Ur-Dragon and got my Heaven's Key and other equipment Dragonforged. All the online drops are great too, super great weapons, equips and shields. | |

| I've not touched the Everfall stuff yet - I'm busy levelling up my vocations. Currently trying a Magick Archer, and it's a bit underwhelming. After the raw power of Mystic Knight, Magick Archer simply doesn't hit hard enough. | |

| That's kind of odd, my pawn doesn't seem to have a primary or secondary inclination, it's blank where as the other guy has inclinations there. Maybe he needs to fight more or something?
Anyway I braved the wilderness in my attempt to get to Gran Soren but after takling down a horde of wolves to get there my path was blocked by some bastard who didn't want to open his gate. So I guess I still have stuff to do in the camp.

| Your Pawn may not have a set inclination yet. Have you done the training in the encampment yet? If so, you'll probably need to rest for a night before... well, that'd be telling, wouldn't it? If not, find the Captain and he'll drill you through some quick weapons tactics. | |

| If the training is the destroying targets in the time limit thing, then I've done that. I guess I'll try and find the Captain. | |

| Speak to Mercedes in the encampment(the woman with the fake French accent). She'll have the quest marker over her head. | |
