| As long as they add a quick travel function into the game then I'll buy it. Dragon's Dogma is fun, but holy shit does it take forever to get places. | |

| I haven't unwrapped my copy of the first one yet, hopefully Capcom don't rush this for both my and the games sakes. | |

| Full sequel or DD1.5 though? I'd rather they not rush and iron out some more of Dogma's flaws. With a bit more polish, Dogma would have been a truly great game. | |

| Apparently, yes, it's just an expansion. Oh well. | |

| Due to the nature of the game this might possibly be a double plat, because apparently they had to recode the original game as there were no hooks. Thats apparently some tech talk and i don't know what it means.
It will be a pain for people if save data doesn't carry through so i hope that will not be an issue.

| http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-01-23-dragons-dogma-expansion-dark-arisen-out-on-26th-april - Quote :
- Dragon's Dogma expansion Dark Arisen arrives 26th April in Europe, Capcom has announced.
It's a standalone game that contains loads of new stuff as well as the original, full, Dragon's Dogma game.
Dark Arisen will cost £20, and will be released on and as a download on PS3 and Xbox 360. (On PS3 it will be a simultaneous box and digital release; on Xbox 360 the disc will come first at the Games on Demand version "in the summer".)
The new stuff:
A huge new underground realm populated by more than 25 new enemies A new tier (level 3) of skills for each class More than 100 pieces of new equipment New high level weapons and armour sets 14 new character/Pawn alignments New tiers of equipment enhancements More character customisation options Item appraisal Optional Japanese voice over
I know what you're thinking: What, I own Dragon's Dogma 1 and I have to pay £20 to get this - the same as a complete newcomer? Well yes you do.
But.
You can carry characters and saved data into Dark Arisen, and as an owner of the original game you'll be given gifts: 100,000 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones and a Gransys Armour Pack that has six new costumes.
It doesn't sound like the greatest reward for your loyalty, but it's better than a kick in the teeth.

| Started playing this again recently and took a bit of acclimatising once more; I'd forgotten how unforgiving it can be in places, though playing as a Sorceror with twenty second wind-up on all his big-hitting spells didn't help, and I struggled a bit against the Ur-Dragon, even though I'm level 113.
On the subject of the expansion rewarding owners of vanilla DD, I'm underwhelmed; 100,000 rift crystals is nothing. I've earned several times that from a single hire, though unlimited Ferrystones sounds nice. Still, be nice to see what new delights the expansion itself throws at us.

| That's not a bad price even for those who do have the first game. It's not much more than a decent piece of DLC. | |

| Any one ever pick up Dark Arisen?
I have a chance to get a copy for fifteen quid, and while I'm tempted to do so, I just wanted to see if anyone else took the plunge.

| I got Dark Arisen a few weeks back, but I've barely played it other than to just enter the Bitterblack Isle to see what it was like for a sec. Also I changed my pawn from David Cross to Kevin Sorbo. | |

I might rebuy it. Ebay. There's a guy I've bought from before who has a copy in "as new" condition. Only a fiver cheaper than new, but that does represent a 25% saving. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with DD, and if DA really is as tough as I'm hearing it'll be nice to be challenged again, especially with the promise of new, even higher tiered, skills.

| Can one of you guys give me some pointers on what I should be doing near the start of the game? I tend to sperg out in RPGs (I've never actually finished a Bethesda game because I always get burnt out exploring everything before I do the story) and the lack of any real information on what I should be doing is driving me mad. I have around 10 quests already but no indication of whether they're story related or not and my usual tactic of running around and picking up everything and talking to everyone doesn't feel like it's accomplishing anything. | |

| The main storyline quests are the ones revolving around you being the Arisen, learning about the dragon, and so forth. After the beginning of the game, when you come to the front gate of the starting village, a pawn/ally will pop up and the village elder will tell you to go to the encampment which is outside the village. Once you get there, it's pretty straight forward. If you're stuck, you can open your main menu and check your quests log. You can then select one to put its destination on your map. | |

| I've actually done all that, I ended up accidentally progressing the story and making a pawn + beheading a hydra but I had no idea I was supposed to do those things and now, after doing them, all of my quests are just "Kill x Enemies".
Basically I'm just annoyed with the lack of explanation of things from the game, I had no idea that my class had a discrete level until it ranked up and I have no idea how the discipline system works.

| I believe Mercedes tells you to head for the Mountain Waycastle right after the Hydra fight. "Off With Its Head" should still be in your quest menu. If you still have it selected, the mini-map should show the direction(that red circle) where you need to go.
Discipline Points are just earned by killing monsters, doing side-quests, progressing through the story, and so forth. They're for purchasing more skills later on.
One thing the game does actually neglect to mention, though, is that a lot of those unique side-quests you get from people(excluding the ones you can start on the quest notice board) can get canceled if you progress too far into the story without doing them. So be careful if you actually want to do some of the side stuff.
