Neat. I remember first hearing of this a while back. Prior to hearing any information about it, I was hoping it'd be related to Breath of Fire considering the head of the game was one of that series' producers or was a part of one of the games or somethin', then I learned it was an original game and was like meh. After seeing this trailer though, it looks like it could be pretty badass.

I haven't tried it yet, set it to download when I made that post. From what I've heard though it's a good action RPG but Capcom marketing it as a viable alternative to Dark Souls and Monster Hunter is pretty inaccurate.

I didn't like it much.
I take back what I said earlier about Monster Hunter and the Souls games as this game tries very hard to be both of them at once, the problem is it doesn't do any of it particularly well.
The combat is very much like Dark Souls in that it seems to want you to figure out the best way to fight each enemy, this would be a good thing if the answer wasn't "spam square" because nothing does any significant damage to you so you don't need to block and, on top of that, you have a companion who heals you every 30 seconds. There was absolutely no difficulty at any point in the demo and even against the bosses, which have locational damage similar to MH in that you can cut off their tails, wings etc to limit their attack options, I felt like I was just going through the motions of smacking at a brick wall until it fell down.
The game interface is also pretty bad, there's nothing wrong with the basic health/attack skills UI but the entire game is letterboxed for some reason and every time a companion says something, which is all the time, it brings up a huge text box over the left hand side of the screen which further limits screen space.
There are more problems with the game but I can't be bothered going into detail. I guess it feels like this has the potential to be good, there are just way too many problems at this point.

Well I got around to playing the demo just now, and while it does have its flaws like Neo said, t's certainly not a bad game. The light and heavy attacks are poorly balanced rendering heavy attack all but useless, and you really don't need to block at all, which really means you don't end up using half the soldier's skills. I feel like the game would benefit from being able to roll, too.
I thought the archer was pretty cool though, I really liked the archery and the daggers looked flashy, however they too suffered from the poorly balanced light and heavy attacks, and the heavy attack was a proper waste of time since you could deal more damage more quickly by spamming light attacks.
I was a bit disappointed I couldn't play as a wizard or see the day/night system in action, since those are the main two things I was interested in.

Keep in mind as RPGs are stupid and demoes of them even worse, you probably unlock those actions from levelling.

Rolling is class restricted to the thief/ranger/whatever.

Yes, you're right RPGs are terrible. It's why i pretty much always play as rogues (thats the collective term for those classes).

When I tried the demo a few days back, I too found it to be a little jarring at first, but after a few more rounds on the Griffin demo, I started to get used to it. Also, fortunately, those damn pop-ups of your pawns' babbling can be turned off(as well as those cinematics that pause the gameplay too I think).
What I'd like to see is how much tweaks have been made in the final game. This demo is apparently pretty old, like one from last year at TGS or something.

You should buy a new computer instead so you can play Magicka and The Witcher 2.

Just tried the demo, and while the overall atmosphere was pretty cool the combat felt like it was missing a lock-on function. It also didn't seem particularly tactical, a shame given all the options the game throws at you with regard to your pawns and your own skills.

I agree. Hitting that griffon in the air was a pain, and the goblins sometimes as well. I also thought it got a bit mashy.
