You guys have been following this right?
It's Metal Gear Solid 5. Ground Zeroes is just a part of it.
Terrific hype, that's for sure.

Ground Zeroes is a prequel, isn't that what Kojima said?

Is it actually confirmed to be MGS related yet? I mean everyone knows it is but has Konami/jima announced it yet?

No, but that's part of the appeal.
It's undeniably an MGS game though. Barring all the clues in the trailer (Big Boss, white petals, fire Volgin, Psycho Mantis, the title at the end secretly spelling Metal Gear Solid V, the fact it's clearly running on the FOX engine, etc.), and the crew for the game at the VGAs all being former employees for MGS games and having VIP access to the Konami section, there's also the fact that the CEO of "Moby Dick (Game) Studio" (which didn't exist last month) is called Joakim Mogren.
Joakim is an anagram of Kojima.
And for the last few years Kojima has talked about his work on "Project Ogre": mOGREn.

There's speculation it's a Vita game because of the hidden logo. Metal Gear Solid V rather than Metal Gear Solid 5.

lol, i totally called him saying Project Ogre had nothing to do with Ground Zeroes, didn't mean it couldn't be MGS 5... i remember saying it in a topic around here and people downright telling me Project Ogre had nothing to do with MGS and all because of one of his tweets..
we're still not 100% sure though, but for now, it looks like I'm gonna be right.

"It's not Metal Gear Solid 5.... It's Metal Gear Solid V."
I can totally see him pulling that out of his ass to justify his previous statements.
Also no one in hell is this a Vita game. Beyond the hideous implications for my own wallet, the website for The Phantom Pain lists PS3 and XBOX360.

Kojima's also been going around talking about how Ground Zeroes is the prequel to Metal Gear Solid 5.
Technically that could be true. The game could start with Big Boss infiltrating the place in the GZ trailer, but at the end of the prologue something goes wrong and he is left in a coma. Wakes up two years later, missing a hand. Game continues from there.
I doubt the survival horror elements will last for long (if it all). Probably constrained entirely to one "chapter", like the mind fuckery at the end of the MGS2.
