Went to buy this and some tool cancelled his Animus edition order so I was like okay I hate money, I'll buy that!
So lots of extras like a nifty encyclopedia and a bunch of free DLC. Also this game comes with the original AC which nobody gives a shit about because it was a BAD game. Suck it, Moose.
Installing now....

So Desmond's has goine haywire so you need to save him from inside his head and I hope that's not what this entire game is about.
Ezio is a badass as usual in the opening sequence.

I assume Ezio just had a senior moment and misplaced his weapons on the mantelpiece or something.

Haha I hope to God that's how it goes. I couldn't even be mad at the game if it did that.

You mainlanders pay proper amounts of money for your games, right? How much did the Animus edition cost?

The next game is going to take place in China. That's pretty interesting I guess.

Asssassin's Creed: Embers (a movie that wraps up Ezio's story) pretty much said this is where it's headed. Plus the developers said they aren't done with AC games, just that Revelations will wrap up Ezio/Altair.

I'm gonna take evidence from a game over that of a movie.
Though AC3 could possibly be about more than one assassin.

It was included in the Collectors Edition and meant as a prolouge so take it as you will but seeing as Ubisoft said they are doing something completely different next game I'm going to lean more towards it. Granted I haen't played Revelations yet so I probably shouldn't have even watched that but whatever.

Where in NY can it take place other than the City? Buffalo?

The ultimate secret vault with all the answers is somewhere in NY, but they can still pull in all the cities nearby, like DC which has tons of ancient history in the way it was built (THANK YOU DAN BROWN).
I still hope there's some French Revolution though. Maybe we get to play with Eve's descendant in a part of the game?

So that thing with Ubisoft saying that the whole Ezio/Altair/Desmond storyline was gonna get wrapped up wont be happening? Man they are about the cross that line where it just becomes beating a dead horse. I love the series but you all know what I mean.

No, Ezio and Altair's story is 100% wrapped up. Desmond's isn't though, obviously.
This game was easily Ezio at his best too. Old Man Ezio is god tier awesome. And the love interest in this game is really good too.
Old Man Altair was also badass (and he has an accent now!), but he was too old to run so kind of annoying.

Looks like I need to get off my ass and get Revelations. I still got a couple more levels to go in Brotherhood for the platinum though.

This is 35 bucks at Best Buy for their Black Friday specials. I will be ordering this then. Figured I'd give a heads up to those who haven't yet bought the game.

Finished the story to tonight after putting off the last couple of sequences so I could grind out some of the side missions.
It was a good - not great - game. A liked aspects of the game (Altair Sequences, Desmond Sequences, the Story starting from about Sequence 4ish) and disliked others (remapped Eagle Sense, Bombs, Den Defense, Short-ass Storymode, Lack of Glyphs/Clusters/Cam Clarke). The ending was alright; it paled in comparison to the previous two though.
AC2 still has the best ending and ACB still has the best opening. ACR has the best... music? Love interest? Ezio was just plain awesome in ACR, so maybe that. I'm not sure if it has the best gameplay. The counter combos with the hookblade are fucking brutal though.
One thing I did like was that the distinction between Assassins and Templars as good and bad blurred. Ezio does some pretty fucked up stuff in ACR (killing Tarik, burning down the cave-village) and a lot of the Templars - while not entirely sympathetic - weren't Caesere Borgia levels of evil.
I really missed Desmond and crew this time around. They really grew on me over AC2 and ACB and I like Desmond (mostly because he's voiced by Nolan North) and I disliked how boring the Animus Island was when compared to future Monteriggioni.
So yeah, I'd give it an 8.5/10.
I just watched Embers too. I'll spoiler it just in case:
Spoiler:
I'm so pissed off that Ezio got assassinated by that punk with the Glasgow smile. Couldn't they have let him have a heart attack and die naturally? Way to kick the poor guy when he's down Ubisoft. The guy spend his whole life as an assassin just so he can deliver a message to Desmond and then he goes and gets murdered when he's just trying to live a happy retirement with his big-boobed wife. Is that so much to ask?

AC1's story>AC2's. AC2's was all over the place. I still have Brotherhood and Revelations to play.
