The Official MvC3EX Hype Topic (Part 1)

I was able to complete Dante, Hulk and a few others fully with missions. I haven't been playing a ton lately though.

Gave up on Chun-li as part of my main team. I've got X23 and Ryu and I'm still looking for a third character that I really like.

You don't expect a team built that way to be effective though, right?

I'm not really bothered about that. I don't expect to ever be any good at this game.

I don't really have a team built but Dante is always going to be my main guy. He's a monster. I almost feel like a dick when i play people online with him but shit happens. If I could make a Sentinel, Sentinel, Sentinel group I would.


Dante, Akuma, and Iron Man seem to be what I go for right now. Iron Man will be gone soon though.

Just tried out Thor and I quite like him.

Neither do I, but I enjoy building teams with great synergy and finding strategies which take advantage of each character's assist.

Yeah, he looks very solid. He has tools to deal with every situation, has an easy time starting a combo -especially after he beats a character; just use Acid Rain before the next one comes in and teleport behind him- deals above average damage and he's very powerful when transformed. He's also pretty easy to play.

Considering there are characters that actually fare well against him, this is a bad idea.

As for my main team, it is going to be either Dante/ Sentinel/ Wesker or Magneto/ Sentinel/ Wesker.

Wesker is my favourite character in this game and luckily he's one of the best. Sentinel's drones for interrupting/locking down the enemy and Dante or Magneto's assists for extending his comboes and possible resets.

Sentinel because of his assist, easiness and effectiveness. Wesker's assist is fast and needs to be blocked low while Sentinel is more effective when he's flying and using his overhead attacks that need to be blocked standing. Great potential for unblockable setups. Wesker and Sentinel work extremely well together.

Lastly, synergy-wise Magneto is probably better as a starting character as he can do more meterless damage and builds more meter. Both of them have fast assists, lots of potential for unblockable setups with Wesker, and are greatly assisted by Sentinel's assist. But, Dante is handsome and stylish, so I haven't made up my mind yet...

That's cool. I'm just gonna go for whatever characters I like best. So far I have X23, Hulk, Ryu, Thor and Chun-li to choose from, and there's still about 10 characters I've barely touched. I'll probably settle on X23, Thor and someone else.

I would recommend Dante for everyone's team, if only for the reasons Chou stated, he's stylish and good looking.

He's one of the people I haven't tried. I tried random characters at first, but now I'm just going down the mission list and getting as far as I can with that and then taking them into training mode for some freestlye practice.

Thor's one of the few characters I can't use. He's too slow, and I struggle to create any openings with him. Yes he's strong, but Hulk and Sentinel are stronger and have an easier time of it in most circumstances.

If you're going to use him and X-23, you may as well exploit their damage and hitstun reset trick:

I never realised people bothered to use training mode that much outside of mission type things.

You ca't build combos with his normals like you can with most characters, but he has plenty of useful and versatile specials. I like him more than Hulk.

You know everytime people go on about a game i refuse to get it.

I'm gonna be peaceful and play Yakuza 4 and DW7 on my own cause i'm cool like that.

This game is going up in price which is stupid and i don't think its worth paying full price for this.

Yeah, if it wasn't for that awesome deal on Amazon I wouldn't have this game yet.

And Hard Corps Uprising drops next week. $15+ for a goddamn rootin' tootin' good time.

Some dude won the Arcadia tournamnt with Ammy/Wesker/Ryu. He went 6-0 from the loser's bracket against a Spidey/Zero/Sentinel team.

I love Ammy, I just wish she hit a little harder. Wesker I can't adjust to, and Ryu is a bit dull... I'd rather use Akuma because he hits much harder.

Plus Akuma is faster with better range. I really don't see where Ryu is a better character other than he is a better spammer.

Ryu takes less damage than Akuma, but I'd take Akuma's greater damage output and versatility over a slight increase in stamina any day. Plus his Raging Demon is unblockable. Some of the assists can make it virtually certain to connect.

I prefer Ryu.

Amaterasu pisses me off more than any other character in this game, especially since Justin Wong won tournaments with her and she became one of the most popular characters online. It's so annoying that she cannot be hit by beams and everyone mashes H. She is also definitely one of the best characters in the game if someone knows how to use her.

Yeah, the guy was dealing 40% damage just with normals and OTG assists.
