You need someone who has an assist that will make it easier for your other characters to approach, so... a) Sentinel's drones (α). Τhat's what I said earlier about him: - Spoiler:
- Highest health compensates for his size and 2nd highest damage output I think.
- He actually moves pretty fast.
- Ground game? Just abuse his crouching M and S. Great range AND ARMOUR properties along with the occasional beam and drone spamming.
- Air game? Fly and use his aerial Hard and S.
- His basic very damaging combo is: any of the above < S < MHS < Light Rocket Punch < that energy ball hyper or Hyper Sentinel Force ( < your next character's special or use X-factor to cancel yours and use it again).
- HIS ASSIST IS AWESOME. Your opponent is forced to block so it's very effective if it's used with a rushdown character. Don't overdo it though, because you may be hit.
- Best character for X-factor level 3. One random hit leads to a 100% combo.
- Hyper Sentinel Force comes out even if he's interrupted, hits even behind him in case someone tries to teleport and with X-factor activated the chip damage is insane.
b) Doom's homing missiles. Completely interrupts opponent and forces him to block or get hit. Doom unfortunately is in general a mediocre character on his own and hard to use. c) Akuma's spinning kick. Very solid character overall. I think those are the best. Check shoryuken forums too. If I'm not mistaken there topics about which characters compliment your main one (you'll find combos and strategies too for your characters). Oh, and watch the archived stream to get a better idea of how the game is supposed to be played. ...even though nobody bothered to use anyone else other than Sentinel, Phoenix, Dante, Doom (and they never did his full loop) and Dormammu. Very boring stream, nobody tried to be creative and try the new characters. | |

It can be funny in matches with mates though, I made a point of constantly flying as high as possible with MODOK when I was playing Raz last night. | |

| I think I just need to lock a team down so I can start properly plying the game. At the moment it's Chun/Ryu/Hulk, simply because They're the three (out of the one's I've tried) that I'm mst comfortable.
Ryu and Chun kind of work well together. Chun is ggreat atcombo building on the groound and Ryu is versatile enough in the air, especially since you can aim his Hyper hadouken. And hadouken assist is decent at letting Chun get in close. I do like Hulk but he doesn't fit in at all. I thought his Gamma Wave assist would gel but it kind of sucks. | |

| The only annoying thing about Ryu is that if yu combo in his ultra hadouken off of tatsu it counts as the air version of the move, so I can't DHC from it. It's not big deal though. | |
