Hey, if Sentinel was still as fucking rigged coming into MvC3 as he was back in MvC2, what makes you think Cyclops is going to fare better?

The mechanics are a lot different in this game nonetheless. In MvC2 you couldn't easily string into mass combos with very many people like you can in 3. His main L->M->H->S type of thing will keep him away from just standing back, Optic Blast, Optic Blast, BEHOLD OPTIC BLAST. You know what I mean?

Of course I wouldn't doubt people trying that. It's going to be no better than Magneto's EM Disrupter though.

They did not do that shit intentionally, it was purely because of the lack of effort that went into MvC2 that it was so fucking broken with stuff like that. Now that MvC2 has had a tournament scene for over a decade and J Wong always won tournaments with Cyclops, they're going to do more meta bullshit like they did with Sentinel being the best character before patches.

Now Phoenix is the best character despite having like no fucking health.

Ok you have a point there. Well hopefully they learned with Sentinel and are willing to change Cyclops up a bit.

EDIT: Some people are saying that Wesker and Magneto are better than Phoenix actually. And also Spider-Man is the perfect counter for her.

I understand Wesker but Magneto? I don't remember dealing with too many of him nor much bullshit from good players with him.

I haven't, but I know that Yipes is extremely skilled at MvC so I'll take your word on Magneto.

Damn X-Factor is such bullshit

It's both great and shit. You can use it for cancelling your combos and genuine strategy but if you're like most people, you'll throw it out at the most inopportune moment or whenever you have Dark Phoenix or Sentinel or Wesker as your last point character.

Nobody is better than Phoenix. DP with X-factor is blatantly broken and you only need to land 2-3 combos to unleash her (which is much more simple than it sounds thanks to some characters' great mix-up game after a combo ends) or just let your other characters die since you also build meter that way.
Phoenix, as a whole, is the best character in the game anyway because you have to drop your combo AND waste meter to snap her in AND pick characters with great assists to maximize your chances of hitting her when she comes in (which results in using an overall weaker team) AND you still have only one chance to land that hit. Even if she dies, your first character (who would have normally died, if you hadn't included Phoenix your team) is now alive and your opponent has wasted his meter while you have built some. For all those reasons, she's the best by far.

His half circle back + Double Attack hyper combo (The one where he goes into the air and does his web swing). If you activate Dark Phoenix and do the hyper right away, it is unblockable for Dark Phoenix and will OHKO (It does in X Factor, I'm not sure without).

They should put in Omega Red and one of his rope grabs should take away hyper meter. That would be awesome against Phoenix .

I wasn't sure what an old episode of Mighty Max could be hinting, but someone on SA reminded me that one of the main characters in that show is named Virgil, so perhaps this is a hint toward DMC Vergil?

Then again, a tweet right after that says "it's probably not what you think it is" so maybe there's something deeper in there.
