| Nope. As Baal said, you have to buy them albeit once in either version of MvC3. At the very least, Jill and Shuma carry over to both versions if you buy them in one. | |

As much as I'm willing to say that Capcom are assholes and idiots, I'd hardly say them releasing an updated version of a game is a "Fuck You" since it's been going on for ages in the fighting game world.

| It shouldn't have been released 7 month after the original with shit and modes that should have been there to begin with. But whatever I'm just bitter becasue I really liked MvC3 but can't really play it since I refuse to buy the same game twice in one year. | |

| SF2 had a far worse record of being remade like 20 times and some of those remakes were about a few months between the other, it is hardly unique to MvC3 that a game gets a new update like a few months after the other game just came out. If remember correctly, one of them was released 5 months afterwards, this is hardly a shock at this point. | |

It was actually 9 months. That means you could have gotten someone pregnant and bought the original MvC3 the same day and then got UMvC3 as a baby shower gift.

But thats arcade updates. The number of releases on home consoles weren't as frequent as say 5 months (i dunno about japan though).

| No, I'm talking about home releases. There really was only about five months separating one of the SF2 home releases. | |

| I doubt those updates weren't as drastic as this though. MvC3 felt unfinished even before UMvC3 was announced. | |

| I agree with that, MvC3 was a pretty clearly unfinished game and they could've probably killed two birds with one stone had they waited a while to release it in 2011... then again the tsunami still would've probably fucked them for time constraints. | |

Which console are you talking about? SNES had SF2, SF2 Turbo, Super SF 2 Genesis had SF2 CE and Super SF 2 As we're talking about 2 i don't know what else we could be talking about those games had at least a year gap on there own consoles.

| Some guys on gamefaqs found a glitch in the game that allows you to use all the dlc costumes and herald colours. But you also have to own atleast one alt or herald colour for it to work. http://m.gamefaqs.com/boards/637240-ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3/62122161Yes it works. Swagneto in all his glory. Its hard to get the timing down and it may take a while but it becomes easy to do. I've tried it with viewtiful joe and firebrand both of which I haven't baught yet. Try it out. Ill help if anyone needs it. | |

| Yeah, I'm under the assumption that it's fake too, but you never know. It's not like Capcom isn't exactly one for reusing their own stuff. Capcom's Captivate is next month too and beyond Ono's little announcement he's making, I'm sure Capcom has something planned for MvC3 since SFxT's little DLC debacle is in the foreground. | |

| Alright so Capcom is actually trying to get the rights back for the game so they can update it. I believe the update will just be balance changes since they're asking people what kind of balance changes they want, but if Capcom's getting the license back for a while then they're probably gonna try to add a few characters into the game too while they're at it.
This is also the reason why UMVC3 was made to begin with and not DLC, they had a limited time with the license and instead of releasing the characters over time as DLC since the license would probably expire if they tried to do that they figured they'd just stuff all of the content onto a disc and sell it.

| I hope there's a new disc release as well as a patch. I don't own this and i want to, but its only available used and overpriced. | |

| A patch would be nice. Although they'll probably get rid of Zero's Lightning Loops, which I just started to get down pat XD. They'll probably nerf Vergil and Doom though, which is good. | |

| Pfft vergil doesnt need a nerf besides durability on swords. Dooms hidden missiles need to disappear on hit though.
I must say ive gotten pretty good at this game in the past year of playing it nearly every other day. To the point where I can legitimately say I will rape each and every one of you at it. Unless you can wavedash/plink, TOD and tac infinite or x factor cancel into combo or extend via assist by reflex alone.
Never going to get an update ever sad to say. God do I love the game besides.
