| It lived up to the name.
It really was great, and any misgivings I had over what looked like odd casting choices were forgiven inside the first twenty minutes. Some continuity issues with X3 aside, it tied in very neatly to X-Men and X2, and there was just about the right balance of action, drama, and plenty of laughs too, including one cameo in particular that had everyone genuinely laughing out loud. You'll know it when you see it.
So yes, it really was "First Class".

| Disappointingly, no.
Actually, one casting choice I didn't think worked; January Jones isn't anything like hot enough to be Emma Frost.

| Boo.
I was hoping for a Polaris cameo since Vaughn hinted at her appearing in the sequel.

| I can't for the life of me think of a blonde actress who's both better looking than Jones, as well as a better actress.
Okay, Kristen Bell, but she's not the kind of woman you'd cast to be Emma Frost.

| I may be Alone, but I find her very ordinary looking. Blonde hair and tits doesn't automatically make someone hot. | |

| It's what makes Emma Frost hot. | |

So yes, it really was "First Class". I agree with this completely. I just got done seeing it about an hour ago. You guys should definitely see it if you haven't already. Also that cameo was amazing.

| After re-watching it, I would say Thor's just okay. But this... this is something different. Definitely cut from the same cloth as Singer's X movies. The first thing that really got me was how I somehow missed that Kevin Bacon was in this movie at all. Wtf? But he was good, so it's all good. Didn't really like Wolverine's cameo as much as I thought I would, though. I imagined it shorter and snappier in my head. He stayed on screen for about five seconds too long, which is a lot of time if you're talking about a short cameo. But yeah, if anything is to be the poster child for quality despite accuracy to source material, it's this. First Class must've had some of the most tweaked character portrayals for a comic book movie in a long ass time, but none of them held the film back from being as terrific as it was.
Also, January Jones was FUCKING STUNNING AS EMMA FROST.

| So would you say, it was... FIRST CLASS? In all seriousness, everyone I know who's seen it says it's awesome so I'll probably go see it tomorrow with some friends after my ancient civs exam. | |

| This is the best movie of the summer, and the year. I don't think anything else can top this for me. Sure they could have picked differant or better X men but the ones they did use were executed perfectly.
Except maybe 1 I had no idea what the hell happened with him.

Also, January Jones was FUCKING STUNNING AS EMMA FROST. The extra screen time was set there on purpose so that people laughing their ass off wouldn't miss anything. It was also supposed to be a very awkward moment between them.

She played the part well, don't get me wrong. I just think she's rather bland looking. She's not ugly, goodness no, but neither is she "fucking stunning". Again, I may be alone on that point and I'm okay with that.
