My copy of Tekken 6 arrived today

i'm curious if there is anything abusable in SF4 to ruin the online experience

There's been abusable moves since SF2.

I don't see much that's abusable in this game.

You can block low.

lag + you sometimes get that slight bounce and the wall
i mean you can get out of ti

but even still the two or three hits a idiot can get can make a difference in a fight

Oh well if you're going to bring lag into it that's an entirely different story.

There are a couple full death combos that I know, but they require floor/wall breaks, and rage (which you only get when you're very low on health), and need very specific placing within specific levels to pull off.

Health is 180 in the game, and good combo ranges from about 60-90, up to around 110-120 with good use of walls. Some people do just learn one combo and spend the whole trying to do it, but if you lose to them (and I have on occasion), then it's your own fault for not picking up on their pattern and taking advantage of it.

Most Asuka players just use her sweep chains, her reversal, and her low attack with is a throw on counter hit. I know her reversal only works on punches and kicks, and not shoulders, knees, throws, etc. And I know I can get past her sweeps and low attack with an u/f+4 and go into a combo. I know I can avoid her ground pickups by getting straight up and blocking low rather than rolling, or just staying there and taking a little damage from the first hit and then getting up with a kick.

I still get beaten by those things though because I generally don't react quick enough. Plus once you start picking apart someone's pattern they get unpredictable (some of them anyway).

does asuka have juns move set adn is that annoying infinite combo from two back?

Yeah, that's her. She can string infinitely I think, but it's very limited, and I've never seen anyone do it. Even the bad players realise she has much better tools than that.

if we're talking about the same string its more then enough to force someone against a wall even if they're blocking, and the possible variations means you'll definitely put your opponent on the floor once

Well I don't know if she actually can. I know she had at least one infinite string in DR, but it never hit low and was crap. A simple jab would interrupt it.

Should be able to. And if it's not that one then I don't think she has any infinite strings. She does have easy strings though, and the sweeps and stuff, which is why a lot of people pick her. Same reason people pick Eddy as well, although he's easier to deal with.

good eddie players are as annoying as hell luckily spammers generally use characters like that
as theres better options

Might move on from Lars soon. I think I've gotten about as far with him as I'm going to get. Pretty much decided on learning Anna next.

i'll either just get good with paul/king/kazuya/yoshimitsu again

otherwise may try out the new guys leo/lili/zafina

Why don't you focus on one character instead of switching every week?

Because I get bored. I don't particularly care about getting high up in the ranks.

i try to get adept with every fighters special moves, learn at least 1 10 hit string

then i see who i like after that

I've never bothered with the 10 hit strings. I did try out everyone in practice eventually, although I had settled on Lili a while before that. I started playing Lars just because Chou suggested it, but I like him now.

you don't need practice mode for the ten hit strings

each button is a limb
doesn't take much to work out which buttons do the combo
well that and the way a character moves

What's the point of working it out that way?
