Bought Crackdown today

It was cheap and I wanted something to occupy me until Christmas. Seems pretty fun so far.

Crackdown is great, and it gets better as your abilities increase. When you're fully powered up it's quite insane what you can achieve.

When your jumping ability is high enough, try climbing the agency tower. Not only does this unlock an achievement, it really shows off the game's draw distance; you're a mile up, and you can still see everything around you.

Oh, and then you can jump off, natch.

The camera took me a bit of getting used to. It operates like it's in an FPS, but the characters don't.

Can't say I recall that being a problem.

It never adjusts itself, if you get what I mean. You can run around all over the place and it stays in a fixed position instead of swinging around behind the character.

Well, the difference is already noticeable after the first agility enhancement. Fun too.

When you're fully upgraded you can literally jump 100s of feet at a time, and pick up trucks; at times it reminds me of Hulk UD, what with your massive agility, strength and speed. There's a lovely feel to the game as well, it's very taut, there's little slackness.

Great game.

It's been a while since I've died this much in a game. It's actually something of a challenge. Of course that's probably just to do with the type of games I usually play.

In fact, one of the bits of DLC, is called "Keys to the City", and is basically a debug mode, letting you make yourself even more powerful than the main game allows, and spawn all kinds of things in your wake....explosive barrels being a favourite of mine.

I did think about uploading some film of my maxed out agent, but it's very difficult to both play the game, and record footage on a mobile phone!

Aw, there's DLC like that? Crap. Would it be available on a silver account (totally don't know anything about how Live works)?

Yes, as long as you're able to get onto the XBL Marketplace, then a silver account would be sufficient.

You can't use an ethernet cable?

The wireless adapters aren't cheap....although I got mine off eBay for £35, which is almost half RRP.

I'd have to get really long one, or some connectors or something. Or drill a hole through the floor in my room. I'd still need a stupidly long cable though. 360 wireless things are like £25 or something in GAME last I saw.

As long as it does the job, I doubt there'd be too many problems with it.

If you're still at uni, rather than at home, I think the biggest difficulty you'd have would be getting the correct information to enable the adapter to find your wireless network.

Oh I can't get it at uni anyway. Only one registered physical Ip allowed per room, and my laptop has that covered. To get the Xbox hooked up I'd need to somehow get permission to have 2, which I'd probably have to pay for as well. If it wasn't for fact that I'm getting free internet from the uni, I'd have my own connection put in and got live a while ago.

Free internet? Nice.

I must confess, my Gold Live membership has lapsed, and as of yet I haven't renewed it. I simply don't spend enough time online at the moment to justify the outlay. Heck, I've barely been online on the PS3, and that's free.

Well, I've got my agility and firearms skill up to 4 stars. Strength and explosives up to 3, and driving is on 1 (barely ever drive in this game). I'm just starting to take on the 3rd gang, who seem pretty tough.
