It's now day 13 of the 4-12 day shipping Ozgameshop claims so I'm literally expecting it to arrive within hours.

My copy arrived tonight. Not had the chance to do more than the first three parts of the single player, but seems like fun, even if some the tier 1 weapons feel hugely underpowered.

Sadly, one slight snag; I cannot for the life of me find my PlayStation Bluetooth headset. I don't recall seeing it for a while (as in eighteen months / two years) and I've turned my living room upside down looking for it. Nada. Zero. Zip. Zilch.

Annoying.

Get online simian i'll help if you need it , let me know if you want me to mic or not i dunno if being shouted at through the tv pisses you off or not.

I won't get a chance to get online tonight, but should be up for an hour or so tomorrow night. That said, I expect I'll be a hindrance... I'm still struggling to shoot straight.

Not a problem, as long as you don't try to kill me its all good i'll be better at ressing you then the AI.

Just let me and moose know what class your picking so we can all mix it up a bit.

If you just want practice survival mode is a good method also helps you gain cash, but solo its pretty impossible.

Not really settled on a class yet.

The bulky guy with the shotgun was good up close, but really slow and useless at mid-long range, the guy with the jetpack had some nice homing rockets but was a bit squishy and the "flight" special ability seemed pointless given that enemies still jump at you. Urgh, those huge jumping spiders gave me goosebumps. I don't like spiders. Ahem. One class had a gun turret special ability, which was useful and the basic grunt has a nice assault rifle, though much like the jetpack guy seems to take damage very easily. Meh. Not really sure what I like most. Will level up a little bit and see if new abilities improve things any.

As we were waiting for Neo we ended up just playing with one class and yes all classes level up and they get waaaaaaaaay better in the higher classes. Perks vary for different classes so i can't really say. Me and moose came to the conclusion that tactical was the shit class. Especially as i've never heard anyone say the class is good. I expect battle to be broken and jet to be second place due to its ridiculous evasion abilities. There all evenish from the little i played with the others.

Moose being the manly man that he is decided to go with the jet pack so he could run away in all gun battles while i was left to die alone on the floor. He hit level 8 with him (he played solo quite a bit), so by that point you can basically fly in the air constantly , meaning the jumping enemies you found annoying and stuff like ticks were not a problem at all for him. He basically fires a variety of pretty colours, generally speaking we were both playing at the same standard but normally if i had unlocked the weapons i wanted in my tier, the trooper was always killing more. Moose can give you details of the class.

I went with the trooper, who has by far the most weapons, and is second fastest and the medic of the group. He doesn't have special abilities as such, but his weapon variety makes him fun. Plus you feel like a real soldier when you play as him and that was a plus for me, being on the same ground as all the other troopers running around in game who are either in your team or you're rescuing. The bugs are pretty gross but you'll get used to them plus kncking them through the air at great speeds has got to be one of the most hilarious and satisfying things i've seen this gen.

When we play multiplayer we're all gonna stick to the same tier weapons so no one gets left behind. So i dunno how you wanna manage your classes.

I've just unlocked a tier 2 weapon for Battle, works a lot like a mingun. Tears through enemies like a hot knife throughbutter. Me likey.

Jet's all about homing weapons and blast radii for the most part. Up until tiers 6 and 7, grenade and missile launchers were his most effective weapons. Then when you hit the higher tiers it's suddenly all about snipers and assault rifles, mostly because the trade-off in damage for homing rockets makes them useless on Inferno difficulty. Any standard rocket launcher is better than homing missilesPlus Jet actually gets some decent assault rifle at tier 7 (and that's his only decent assault rifle, save for specialised ones like the Plantain).

Also, the US got the weapon packs for this today. Hopefully we'll get them tomorrow.

weapons packs better be 2 pounds or less or they can fuck themselves...

I was planning on trying out the battle suit when we start fresh, Buu, hope you like flying. Getting seriously pissed off that it hasn't arrived yet though, gonna send Ozgameshop an email if it doesn't come today.

I found Jet really boring, though granted that was using his base abilities. I'd rather get up close and personal, able to dish out and take the pain, even if it means sacrificing some mobility. Battle all the way at the moment.

Out of interest, what headset are you guys using? Given I can't find mine I need to get another, but I don't want to spend much on doing so.

I bought a cheap and cheerful Bluetooth headset, so I now have a voice again. Sadly, it looks like it'll need to be charged for four hours before use.

Regardless, I'll be online in about half an hour if anyone fancies babysitting me.

You want me to be jet? My jet is level 1 and my tactical level 2 i think. Just play whatever level your on by the way, i'll be able to survive regardless of the level... i hope.

I'm still in the first chapter, five stages in I think. The last stage started by putting you in a Mech against two Hectors and a lot of ants and spiders. I've said it before, but I really don't like spiders.

Haha that lvel is horrendous it gets super difficult on the higher difficulties. That 2-5 and 3-4 are the levels i die most on.

Yeah, I did actually die once and had to rely on a bot to help out. I was overwhelmed by those bloody wasps while trying to take on an anthill, a dropship and half a dozen spiders.

Well if we struggle finishing it when we retry i can just select my tropper and use tier 2 weapons, his instant revive would be very handy. Thats instant revive as in he taps your shoulder and you stop napping.

The patch almost done yet?

Installing, though it's now at 75%. On the plus side, the headset should be charged a bit by now so I can talk to you rather than having you shout through my TV.
