My copy of MvC3 arrived today.

Which was surprising. Didn't expect it this soon. Plus it came with the MvC3 free t-shirt, which I don't even think was advertised. I certainly wasn't expecting it at any rate. All in all it was a pretty good deal for £25. Haven't played it yet, because all my stuff is downstairs at the moment (since upstairs is being renovated), so I have to wait until my grandmother has gone to bed. I'll hop on tonight though.

Did you buy the PS3 or 360 version?

PS3 version. All I buy for the 360 anymore is sequels to franchises I started buying when I only had a 360.

I went for the PS3 version becuase that's the version everyone I know bought.

Everyone I know has a 360. But none of them buy fighting games.

Did fairly well in my first two matches online though. Well, the other player rolled over me in the first battle, but I killed two of their characters in the next one. Just picking all random characters at the moment as well, since I've barely practiced.

Apparently Capcom is fixing up a spectator mode. It's retarded how there wasn't one to begin with but hell.

For some reason I always forget to execute combos in this game... well, the one I know with Wesker. I cannot adapt to the pace of the battles.

Also, I'm starting to get irritated by the level of damage, even if you block. I lost maaaany matches today and, with only two exceptions, I can say that most of the other players were worse than me (and I am terrible) and random hypers and beam-spamming cost me the match.

As far as spamming goes, I can get away with a couple hadoukens in a row or a couple hadengekis in a row without feeling guilty online until they actually block.

I spam Doom's beam/ rocks/ proton whatever because he doesn't seem fast enough to chase those running away. Still fucking Sentinel fires beams faster than him and his HSF does a ton of damage AND is invincible. I'm scared to call my assists in against Sentinel because of this crap.
Oh, and according to the guide, Sentinel gets better bonuses when he uses the X-factor than everyone else. What the hell, Capcom?

I'm pretty sure Capcom made him the best character in the game solely because he was the best character in the game in MvC2... which is stupid, because there's homages and then there's trying to make a shoutout to a previous game by integrating it into gameplay.

IE: Capcom doesn't pay any homage to the first fucking game but because the second game achieved memetic status they payed attention to making homages to that.

They went back to having character themes unlike MvC2.

That's not really paying homage, that's called not being lazy fucks with their sound department.
