FUNi announces Movie 9: Episode of Chopper!!

This fall Funi will finally release a new OP movie. Drum movie is a pretty smart choice, with Christmas and all that stuff at that time.

Franky sounds fucking epic. Can't wait till they dub CP9.

So what are the OP movies like in general?

Movie 1 to 7 are original stories. Movie 8 is a remake of Alabasta and movie 9 is what if the Drum arc doesn't happen until after Enies Lobby.

I recommend watching movie 2, 4 and 6. Those three are easily the best movies, with the rest ranging from mediocre to really bad. Movie 9 is pretty good too, but it's basically a story you already know with a twist.

Be warned though, although movie 6 is alright and fine, along with the director comes also the digimon movie crew. Their animation is nice, but because of that nice animation, they cut back heavily on decent art and color, it really looks awful in some spots, but overall, at least the animation itself is great.
