| I saw a trailer for it when I went to see Push last week. It raised the idea that the future they're heading for is a different one to the one that Reese came from, and John Connor isn't sure he can still lead the humans. | |

| Was it that line "This isn't the future my mother told me about", or something? | |

| I just assumed that was because his mother told him they could prevent the war.
Either way it looks like it's focusing on the introduction of the human imitation robots. They'd been around for a while already in the future scenes from the earlier films (or film, can't remember if they had any in T2).

| IIRC,doesn't Reese say that the early models had rubber skin, they were easy to spot? It was the T800 that upped the game, but they never believed they were human, they just used it to infiltrate and kill.
It also raises a potential paradox; if it is a different future, and John Connor never meets Kyle Reese for whatever reason, then how can John Connor exist?

| Oh yeah, he does say that. I assume that one that thinks he's human would be an earlier model than the T800. Obviously Skynet decided making them think they were human was a bad, since going by the trailer it swaps sides.
As for paradoxes, I tend to ignore them. Time travel is just one of those things that's almost never done in a satisfying way unless you just don't think about it.

I wish I could do that. I nitpick every detail on that sort of thing.

| The only film that comes to mind that I think does it well is Twelve Monkeys. | |

| Haven't seen that for years, but what a great film. Even if I did feel ill when Brad Pitt eats the spider. | |

| Apparently Arnie's making a sort of cameo, with his face being digitally put on some young Austrian bodybuilder. | |
