| This is the most recent Sonic game, I've only played it for 3 days, but I have enough info to make a review for it...
Story- Meh, the story is not really noticable for the most part. Eggman has a fleet of spaceships above Earth, and Sonic stops him, but Eggman pulls a Wily and begs for forgiveness, then traps Super Sonic in this energy cage thing, and drains the negative energy from the Chaos Emeralds, then fires a giant beam at the Earth from his penis shaped cannon, causing the Earth to split into 7 pieces(Take your pick, reusing the idea from Sonic Advance 3, or ripping off Heroes), and awaking a beats called Dark Gaia, from the core. This also causes Sonic to turn into a Werewolf/Werehog form. Eggman then sends Weresonic into the vacuum of space, and Sonic lands safely in Apotos(First world), but he lands on this creature named Chip, who has lost his memory. So Sonic and Chip go around the world, using Gaia Temples to restore the Chaos Emeralds power, and stop Eggman from harnessing Dark Gaia's power. The only flaw with the plot is the fact that real-time cutscenes are too few. Rating: 8
Characters: Now this is a shocker, the only real main characters from previous Sonic games that are in this game, are Sonic, Tails and Amy(Knuckles and Shadow are in the 360/PS3 version), oh, and Eggman. Chip is a welcome new character(Even though he is only in this game....), and Eggman has this funny new robot assistant. Rating: 9
HUBS: This gets it's own section. Hubs in the Wii version are point and click, basically, you point at where you want to go, and go there, then chat with people, or activate a cutscene. Rating: 6
Gameplay(Sonic): This gets split into two sections. Sonic's stages are done during the day, and quite frankly, are the best part of the game. Sonic's stages combine Secret Rings movement, with a few Sonic Rush/Adventure 2-D moving sections. Also, good luck getting S-Ranks in these stages, you have to learn the best path possible, and use the Sonic Boost at the right times. All in all, Sega really outdid themselves on this part Rating: 10
(Werehog): *Sigh* The annoying Werehog...how a loathe thee... Werehog isn't that bad really, but there is TOO MUCH of him. Seriously, for every Sonic stage, there are 3-5 Werehog stages. But anyways, Werehog is more about combat(This is easy though, just keep pressing R and L buttons to make it through these parts with ease) Platforming is tedious, and you may find yourself dying alot.(P.S. Game Overing on a Werehog stage, means you have to start the whole stage over again) You do get Power upgrades from beating enough enemies, and getting items is pretty easy if you know where to look. Rating: 7
Bosses: what is a Sonic game without bosses? Well guess what? You'll have to go through atleast 7 bosses total in this game. But luckily, they are easy, the hard part is figuring out how to beat them fast enough to get an S rank for each one. Rating: 9
Overall: This game is a good return for Sonic, but next time Sega, make more Sonic stages, keep out Combat stages. Rating: 8.1

What?! It's actually quite good. Like I said, the Werehog is the only part that sucks.

| Not sure how different this is from the 360 version, but how many different paths are there through the stages? Is it like a straight paths that fork sometimes, or big multilayerd levels like the old 2D ones in Sonic 3 and so on. | |

There are multilayered paths.

| Shut up Baal.
Anyway, I'm gonna hvae to find out exactly what's different about the 360 version. Visually, it looks pretty damn nice.
How do the other characters come into play?

| Baal, it's trolling/flaming/whatever.
Just get out and flame Mew in the Warzone.
And this is actually one of the lowest reviews I've seen of this game, so I'd say this is a fair review.

How do the other characters come into play? In the 360 version, Tails pilots the Tornado, and you play a minigame similar to Sonic Adventure's Sky Chase zone's. Besides that, Tails is just there.... Amy is also just there, not much of a role there.

| How exactly are the levels designed? How much of it is the side-on 2D style gameplay, and how much is 3D? A lot of the 2D type areas don't seem to involve much actual gameplay other than holding forward. | |

Each stage with Sonic has one 2-D section. And you have the option in these sections to go either up or down. Usually, the upper path is faster and leads to a reward. And the levels are designs with speed in mind. But you can't just keep moving forward, sometimes you have to look to the side to find hidden pathways.

| Chip is "a creature"... could you be any less specific? -__-
In addition, you rated things way too high. Your cons for werehog stages (including tedious platforming, frequent death, and excessive number) seemed to indicate a very low opinion, but you still gave it an eight...

| The problems pointed out were minor, not enough to change the score. | |

Tedious Platforming, Constant Death, and excessive numbers of doing it sounds like a pretty big deal. Especially considering Sonic is a platformer.

| But unlike most reviewers, I can handle constant deaths and tedious platforming. | |

No. Tedious platforming is a major problem if it is a platformer game. No matter who you are that stands as a fact.
