New series called "Dragon Ball Super" coming soon

Toriyama is credited as the original creator, as well as for "original story & character concepts." Toei Animation's Kimitoshi Chioka (Hakaba Kitarō, Kamisama Kazoku) is the series director, and Naoko Sagawa (Yomiko Advertising, Inc.) and Mutsumi Kido (Toei Animation) join Nozaki as producers. Kido entered Toei just as the company was animating the Dragon Ball Z anime's Freeza arc.

A new film taking place after the Majin Buu Saga, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' (key visual seen right,) premiered in Japan earlier this month. The film will eventually screen in 74 countries worldwide. Funimation hosted the North American premiere of the film on April 11 in Los Angeles. The company plans to release the film in more theaters with an English dub this summer.

Now we can bitch about crappy storytellin on a weekly basis.

The first chapter of Dragon Ball Super is out now. I think they're going to build up to Battle of Gods and then jump to the aftermath of it.

Or they split the movie into 4 episodes.

Goku really lives the man's ultimate dream. He has a job he can easily skip out on and makes his kids do, and life rewards his slacking off by having people come to his home and give him millions of cash for it.

Gohan still goes mystic y'all y'all. For now.

Episode was an 8.5/10. Great slice of life stuff, but loses points for ruining Gohan, ruining Videl and having these teenagers get married 7 months after first meeting.

I don't think I ever realised how annoying Goku's voice is in Japanese.

I liked the animation though, its nice to see a newer looking DB, btw is this set immediately after the Buu arc, or is that bit with Uub supposed to have happened to?

Also am I supposed to have seen the movie or is the movie plot going to be incoporated into this?

Oh great this sounds much better having it that way. I didn't want to bother with the movies they always end up short and stupid.

I hope the Z-fighters aren't back benched as hardcore as in the other series. Would really like to see Gohan, Vegeta or Piccollo be useful. I'm guessing Gotenks will inevitably do something for at least a little while.

They will probably be useless. Though Piccolo stalking Gohan and being annoyed by him at least promises the idea that he will teach him how to DODGE! again.

Goku and Vegeta will likely be the only worthwhile Z-Fighters by the middle of the series. Vegeta himself won't be that relevant till the Revival of F arc (probably).

I was hoping this wouldn't happen. Because now we'll know what'll happen.

It sounds like they'll adapt the films in the series but changes will be made to fit them into a bigger story. This is a weird direction for the series to go in.

I hope Gohan and Videl become more proactive. Remember when they were superheroes?

Thats pretty much what the second episode was.

The second episode was good. The third not so much.

Third was the intro to the movie.
