Gameplay Trailer
EDIT: love how when they say uncharted islands, we literally see what looks like a scene from Drake's Fortune... classy

I'll wait for the GotY edition as usual, but that looked surprisingly good.

That looked a fair bit more interesting than AC3.

If its multiple cities i'm sold, as teh combat looks fun. If not then i'm not interested.
I do like the parkour in these games adn honestly its the main reason i buy them. Stealth is something never needed in these games so i can't actually call this a stealth game as there is literally no reason to stick to it.

I just preferred being stealthy and taking all the enemies - or at least most of them - down from the shadows to endless countering. It's not difficult or especially fun to do that.

The E3 demo for this game was the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I'm burnt out on the AC games after 3 shat the bed and now I hope the franchise crashes and burns until they figure out that European history is more interesting than any other part of the world's and the French Revolution is the perfect back drop for an AC game.

there's a lot of stuff in European history that would be a good back drop for an AC game.
even Wolrd War I and II, despite the latter being overused in FPS games. or something in Ancient Greece or Rome.
but I didn't care for Assassins Creed after the first one, so in the end, I'm not playing it anyways.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but they can't do stuff like ancient Greece because all those gods would get in the way. Well that and the fact that I think the assassin's had roots near Jerusalem, according to the first game. I dunno if they state when they became a thing.
If they did Asia excluding Japan, I'm sure something interesting could be done. French Revolution would be good. Or a game based on the greatest Finnish man ever Simo Häyhä, although thats not really assassin's creed, but well neither was ship sailing previously.

So yeah I've played far more of this today than I should have and am enjoying it a fair bit. The actual missions aren't any better than in the old games but it's by far the most fun AC to date when it comes to just going around and doing whatever you like in the world. I'm actually considering collecting everything this time, partially because it unlocks modifiers and 'cheats' for mission replays but also just because I actually enjoy exploring islands in my ship.
Would definitely recommend that people try it out and then buy it if they enjoy the game, this was honestly one of the last games I expected myself to enjoy this year but it's made a believer out of me.

really liking this game, im not far into the story (only DNA string 2) but just running round havana doing the collecting & side quests is fun which brings me to my next thing... PIGEON COOPS ARE BACK!! good old fashioned assassination quests may sound simple but when you're playing an assassin game you kinda want to do assassin things.
from where i am in this it seems that AC3 was a failed trial at something different & ubisoft have gone backwards to make the game better.
only gripe i have is the social shit on these new games, every story mission you do it asks you to rate out of 5 stars & give feed back. you can just press X to skip it but it shouldnt be in there in the first place, do they not use testers anymore for games or have we just become unpaid workers?

Just put "Stop asking me for feedback" as the feedback every time.

That's right before you get the ship and the game becomes good.
