Ace is too perfect to not die or turn evil.

Of course FUNimation gave Ace Travis Willingham as a voice actor. Something about Travis and fire (Mustang in FMA, PIerre from Aquarion, Ace).

Unless it's a flashback, no one dies in OP.

I'm more than a little sad that Vivi and Carue have left the crew. I knew it was coming but still.

You will soon begin the best arc. But you won't realise it at first, because you'll be expecting it to be over fairly quickly and you just want to get back to the "main plot". But you have to fight those feelings and appreciate SKYPIEA for the amazing story arc that it is.

Yeah, it's a pretty decent arc. It may seem like a drag due to it being a detour of sorts to the "main journey," but it's still pretty entertaining. It has a good build up, a cool setting, and an electrifying climax.

I just realized that part of the OST track "Mother Sea" is just "We Are" slowed down.
Also can I just say that even though it's corny as hell, the version of We Are where the cast sings is awesome.
I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the eyecatcher songs? Particularly Luffy's, Nami's and Vivi's?
Basically, music appreciation post.

The eyecatcher tunes are just short variants of the characters' motifs. Most of them play at the start of the Straw Hats' respective theme tracks. So, for example, Luffy's one is from "Luffy," Nami's is from "Nami" and so on. Not sure if Vivi's one was released or not when I checked through some track lists online. If so, it may have a different title to it.

They're all just included at the beginning of the character themes.
For example:
Dat jazz.

The whole "no one ever dies" thing does get a bit ridiculous. Enel is blowing up people left and right with lightning strikes and after he is defeated they all just get up no worse for wear.
Saps any emotional impact the scenes where they were hurt might have had in hindsight.
Also Kaio what the hell were you talking about Skypeia arc was nothing special. It wasn't bad by any means, but it's behind Arlong Park and Alabasta for me.

Also does the end of every arc coincide with two factions ending their war when a long-promised event occurs? Rain in Alabasta. The bell in Skypeia.

Skypiea left me a little cold too, but that may be because I don't really like any of the characters in the arc, be it villain (the priests and Enel), anti-hero (Waipa and the others) or the neutrals (Conis etc) I never felt attached to them, and was never invested in their fate.
You've got a fun filler arc to come next, followed by one of the best parts of the manga.

Oh god yes. That was irritating. Eneru had the power to blast Skypia out of the sky yet can't kill a single person? I'm not buying it.

Just to clarify; when I said earlier about one of the best parts of the manga, I was not referring to the Davy Back mini-arc. That was an amusing diversion, but nothing more and the anime padded it with stupid filler, in particular causing a plot hole relating to something Chopper reveals later on.

Oh I know. I checked the story arc chronology on the One Piece wiki and saw the next big one is the CP9 one.
