So this is probably going to come out soonish, they've added a handful of RPG elements like skill trees and a Diablo loot system, it's actually looking pretty good.
Darkisders 2 looks so much better than Darksiders 1, holy crap. The game is so much faster, more enemies to fight at once and the combo system looks like it actually exists.

I'm tempted to get the CE for Darksiders 2 because it was very pretty useless junk in it.

Played through the first 5 story dungeons or so, it's pretty much a straight upgrade over Darksiders 1.
The combos are still the same square/triangle one button deal but everything is a lot faster and more fluid. You're much squishier than War but you have a ridiculously good dodge move that can be chained three times in a row with no recovery so as long as you're not spamming it you'll pretty much never get hit.
I like the loot system, it's pretty much a tweaked Diablo in that you'll get loads of shit and the occasional good item with even rarer great ones. Vigil have added what they call "Possessed Weapons" which start off as blank slates with low damage and no other stats, the gimmick is that you sacrifice other weapons to enchant them and, once an experience bar is filled, the stats will get better relative to what you used to upgrade it. You'll also get to choose one 'bonus' stat each time it levels up, also based on what you used to upgrade it. These have been the best weapons I've found in the game, I'm only now looking to ditch the level 5 possessed scythes I found earlier and I'm almost level 12.
Magic has been revamped, you now get skill points every time you level up which can be spent in one of two trees corresponding to weapon or magic based abilities. I haven't delved into it very much and have only bought the one spell, a huge 360 degree AoE scythe attack that knocks enemies back and deals hefty damage, so I can't really comment on the rest of it. For what it's worth respeccing is very cheap and afaik can be done as many times as you like so there's plenty of room to experiment with magic if you're so inclined. Wrath seems to be generated much faster than in the first game too which I'm sure would open up your options if you put your mind to it.
There's a little bit more variety in secondary weapons this time around, although they only use two general movesets depending on whether it's a light or heavy weapon there are slight variations that you'll figure out through experience, for example hammers have a ground pound move where spears have a downwards stab that keeps you in the air. Other weapon types I've found have been: Maces & Axes (Heavy) and Claws, Arm Blades (think a more grimdark Batman) and Gauntlets (Light).
The dungeons are still all Zelda-esque except they've added Prince of Persia style platforming that feels pretty good, although the camera can get in the way sometimes and the level design isn't as good as an actual PoP game.
Everything else is pretty much the same as the first game, only real complaints I have are about the difficulty and whichever sadistic bastard decided to put collectibles that, unless you outright see them, can only be detected by sound in an area with constant volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
If you guys have any questions about a part of the game I can try to answer them, just bear in mind I feel like, despite having played it for 10 hours, I'm not very far into things.

Fun Fact: When you're getting killed in one hit by monsters you should probably check that the dungeon you're in isn't designed to be played when you're 10 levels higher. I think it's testament to how good the dodge is that I beat it anyway before realising though.

The full soundtrack is out there, I haven't bothered looking for a download yet though.

I mean whether it's just as good as that or if that's like a one off track.

Well from what I've heard ingame there's other good stuff, that one is the best from my experience though.

This seems pretty great so far. The first one was decent and this is better in every regard.

It's actually really long too, after you finish the Forge Lands you go to an entirely new zone, which I just finished, and then another smaller one after that. Judging by the empty portals in a certain hub area there's going to be at least one more.
I've been playing for 32 hours according to Steam, take off a couple for when I've left the game running and aimless collectible searching but considering I bought the first one for $5 or so I don't regret the $50 full price at all.

The first one was 20 hours and this was supposed to be longer, so I'd be disappointed if it wasn't huge.

Did any of you guys find that the first one seemed long in places, like it dragged a little in place, is this one like that?

A little bit, not nearly as bad as the first though.

The only thing I don't like about the game is that lock-on is L2 and special moves use L1. It's feels a bit odd using both L buttons at the same time.
