| I've been through it on normal and now I'm going through it on hard. And shit is it hard. Fuck trying Very Hard and Master Ninja. You face Black Spider Ninjas in the very first stage, and there's no New Game + so you're stuck with the shitty level 1 Dragon Sword and no counter attack/Izuna Drop. The SWAT enemies are total bitches too. Light attacks are unsafe on block so if they block your last hit THEY WILL GRAB YOU. Thankfully the dual swords have better strong combos than the DS, including a combo that's a guaranteed knockdown if it hits, so it's not a huge problem.
But, where the Black Spider Ninjas were in the Normal, the fucking Catwomen are in Hard. They didn't show up until the last few chapters in Normal. They just around all over the place and the majority of their attacks are guard breaks. Couples with the floating scythe enemies they're a fucking pain. The level 3 dual swords add a few attacks that deal with them a bit better.
There's also new bosses, like fiend clones of Ryu. I hate them.
It's a great game though. Kept me glued to my Vita since I got it. | |

| I give it a good home. On my shelf. The differences, apart from the added controls, aren't that big. The Vita version has these items called Enhancements which I think are new. Sigma had Accessories that could boost your defense or attack and such, and the Enhancements are just greater versions of those. There's one that increases the effect of blue essence, on that increases yellow essence, etc. | |

| All my favourite weapons from NG2 (tonfas, claws, scythe) aren't in this. Luckily the Kitetsu sword is fucking amazing. Definitely my new favourite weapon. It's just a shame there's no new game+ or chapter challenge, because you only get it 2/3rds of the way in. The Ninja Trials give you a set selection of items and weapons too, so it's not even available for all of those. | |

| Finished hard mode. I'm really disappointed with how NG3 looks, because I love these games now. This one especially. NGS2 does a lot of stuff better, but this one has a strange charm to it that I can't put my finger on. Already put more than 45 hours in to it. Each playthrough was about 13 hours and there's a ton of trials. | |

| When they say Very Hard they're not lying. Took me 4 or 5 tries to beat that evil Ryu clone. | |

| Very Hard isn't actually that bad. The one new boss battle that wasn't in Hard mode wasn't too much trouble, although it's placement was annoying. There's a mini boss-rush near the end where you fight a couple old bosses before facing Marbus, but in Very Hard mode they're replaced with two new bosses. One is just a reskin of an old boss (one of the toughest bosses in the game) and the other is brand new and has a ridiculous moveset. She can even counter attack you. It's quite easy to take advantage of her moves though so I only died once. | |

| Yeah, it's pretty cool. Ryu has 3 extra costumes and Rachel has 2 extra. You unlock Enhancements by playing through Normal and Hard and the trials too. There's nothing for completing Master Ninja so I doubt I'll bother. | |
