Razor's Edge finally has a proper chapter challenge mode, so you can play any chapter as any character.

Yes, it seems to be TK's attitude to all these games that were released elsewhere first. DOA 5+, NGS 2+ and now this.

If DOA5+ and NGS2+ are that reasonably priced on PSN I might get them eventually.
If I owned a WiiU I'd be seriously pissed off though, since it's full price on that.

There's going to be a demo and the save file will transfer to the full game.

Wow this is hard, and it's only Normal mode. Died a bunch of times, but that was mainly due to getting used to the system and also having no upgrades.
Attack speed and general responsiveness seems a tad slower than the other games, but it's a big improvement over NG3.

Okay, this can be fun, but it still has some serious issues. For the amount of content it has and the budget price though, I'll still pick it up.

Issues that a lot people probably wouldn't notice or be able to explain. There's some undeniable control issues, with the deadzones on the sticks being bigger than ever for some reason which can mess up dodging. The changes to the combat system don't mesh well with the unchanged health and karma system.
I'm sure it's enjoyable enough to just play casually. I still want to get it at some point when it's really cheap.

Finally bought this for £7 in the PSN sale. Once you get into it and understand the systems a bit, it's not so bad. But it's damn hard in the way the others weren't, and it's mostly because the controls aren't as good as there's a lot or arbitrary restrictions on your abilities.
Essence is just a number that goes up during combat instead of being a resource on the field, which means you can no longer choose to absorb it for instant UTs. Instead you get one instant UT whenever your "Blood rage" fills up. Which is maybe once or twice a fight. Ninpo is based on the ki gauge which takes forever to fill, and other abilities use ki as well. Aiming the bow midair takes a sizeable chunk of ki, so you might as well forget that ability if you ever want to use ninpo. Which you will because it's the only way of getting health back besides reaching a save point.
The first two games had all that stuff for free but were still tough as shit because they were balanced around it. This one feels like they just stuck NG2 enemy AI in a game where you have far fewer ways of dealing with it.
And the alchemists are cunts.

Does this one have a coop mode like the team missions from 2? If so I'll grab it if you want.

Ayane is really fun to play in this, because you can hold down triangle at the end of most combos to immediately start charging a UT. It lets you easily combo into OTs and Steel on Bone.

When this game works it really works, and Steel on Bone went from annoyingly random to a great throw counter. There's just some control issues and the enemies aren't as good as the other games. Plus all the dumb stuff they didn't get rid of from original NG3, like the climbing sections, QTEs, "dramatic" forced walking moments.

Wow, the final boss is bullshit. It can only be damaged with ninpo, and the game gives a new ninpo just before which takes a massive amount of ki to use. So you just have to fight the most annoying enemies in the game until your ki fills up, all while the boss shoots exploding projectiles all over the place and slams their giant hand around the arena at random.
I'm on Normal mode and haven't even filled up half the ki bar before dying.
