I remember the first time i played ninja Gaiden sigma 1 that was the moment i got a real feel for what the next gen consoles were capable of other games which made this clear were MGS4, little big planet, prototype, resistance (interestingly prototype being the only cross platform game)
i've played both the original NGS2 and this remake, i'll just get the gore thing out of the way first cause ppl make a really big issue about this heres the xbox 360 decpatation
basically in the xbox version the linbs you chop off stay on the ground in the ps3 version you get this purple mist effect (that i think looks kick ass) where bits chopped off from a body are kinda disintegrated think the bleach anime when a hollow gets a body part cut off
Anyways the extra gore on the 360 version also equates to a drop in frame rate and slow down, seriously i think thats just a stupid sacrifice to make, once a guys head is chopped off i'm personally not screwed up enough to get thrills looking at it while its on the floor (besides the games too fucking fast to look at it anyway)
what does the ps3 version have over the xbox version? 3 extra levels, at least one extra character and 30 co-op missions (online)
i'll talk about co -op when one of you guys gets this
Basically this game runs smoother then anything that i've played (although this is also true of the first NGS) I've probably mentioned this before, a lot of games when i get hit i feel like the games unresponsive controls or bad mechanics get in my way while fighting While playing this game i've never had such a gripe, its normally trying to get in an extra long combo or not dodging the guy who was right behind me The way hyabusa flows from one movement to the next not to sound retarded i will say he moves like water and that is how a ninja should move Oh yeah i'll just quickly point out this is a ninja action game not a stealth game the variety of weapons is also fun and i think all have there seperate uses i think i'll try mastering one ata time If you like a challenge this game is well worth a look, i've never played a game where i felt kinda crap at it, this feels a lot harder then one from what little i've played already, mainly because every enemy now seems like a threat even on the easiest setting (in the first one basic ninjas weren't that much of a threat on the lower difficulties), also to put it another way when my sister saw me playing this she was shocked i died cause i like almost never die in action games
The graphics are stunning, theres very little on the ps3 that looks better, the decapitation and limb chopping off looks amazing and theres various glows and particle effects keeping everything looking sexy The combat is fluid, there is a tiny bit of loading time between changing weapons (in the xbox version you had to go into a menu to change weapon) so i'm not sure if you can change weapon mid combo i'll test this later The two boss fights i've done so far were both fairly on a large scale and epic considering theres 17 chapters and in chapter 1 theres been two bosses i just hope they keep up this pace
Any questionis feel free to ask i have yet to play this much but i'm finding it really fun

Ryu seems faster in that video.
Whenever he's in a boss fight the game seems slower. (Those are the only instances I've seen gameplay of.)

This guy isn't great at its from the first level (lol forgot the video)
skip to about 3 mins in to see the fighting
this game is stupidly fast i don't think i've played any action game faster then this one, but this is the kinda pace i like my games at personally DMC seems really slow to me comparatviely even like the speed of the wallrunning in that i do get the feeling i'm the only person who thinks this though
when you get a ps3 demos of this and number one are on it i'm pretty sure when you play them though why i think this is so much better then DMC (yes baal i know you prefer DMC, but lets face it we're never gonna agree on this)

Yeah, played the demo, you really have to rely on reflexes at higher difficulties.

comparison vid
PS3 Pros: Improved graphics Improved interface and menus Easier playability (less annoyances) Added playable characters (Momiji, Rachel, Ayane) Added Bosses and storylines, like the return of Marbus Online co-op missions New weapons (Howling Cannon, Enmas Fang)
PS3 Cons Slightly too easy Online co-op lags like hell New characters are worse than Ryu anyway
XBOX 360 Pros More gore (arguable) More variety of Secondary Weapons
XBOX 360 Cons Complaints of many bugs/glitches Irritating enemies Repetitive bosses

The only reason I might pick up DMC4 over this is because it's only 20 bucks now. Even cheaper if I buy it used.

This game is literally getting better then the second The number of combos is ridiculous and they all look visually very different Regardless of how much i improve the enemies continual onslaught is still very difficult to deal with Also i heard the complaint of being attacked by unseen enemies, but honestly when you start playing this you realise its fairly incompetent to let go of the block button until you spun the camera round, the enemies are ninjas and they do drop downa dn jump into a fight and some of the fighting areas are decent sized so really you should check this first and this problem is solved by using block when your unsure where the enemy is boss fights are still fairly frequent, all the fights i've had aqre challenging yet not impossible (i can imagine these get very hard on the higher difficulties mission mode is simply amazing fast hectic action and i can't wait to play this online with someone
