I'm surprised they went with 5 rather than another subtitle. I thought the idea was that the numbered games introduced a new game engine.

It was a significant step up from 1 though, compared to GTA London which was basically GTA 1 reskinned with half the text replaced by cockney rhyming slang.

Well that's because it was just technically an expansion pack of the first game. Either way 4 was a dissappoinment and caused me to leave the series. I really hope this game rediscovers the magic that was 3/Vice/San Andreas (especially this one)

4 is better than 3. 3 was just a completely unique game when it released, so it gets a pass.

Nothing, but 3 is only special because it came first. It's not a better game than 4.

4 is 3 with an new engine, only the engine isn't really any better control-wise. Sure it's a lot more polished but it seriously lacks that fun factor and wow factor that 3 brought to the table. For all intents and purposes, it's just a glorified remake of 3.

I liked all that, it was just so over the top you could get into it without taking anything seriously. San Andreas was the last GTA game that got it right imo.
