Auto Saving

I personally dislike auto saving in case i mess up along the way. But it has had its uses when i somtimes forgot too save.
I dont recall which game originally had auto save first .... i think it was Zelda.... not sure

Anyways that aside whats your opinon on it guys? Do you think its should be the norm in every game?

Unless it would interfere with the game in some way, for example Dark Souls, both auto and manual saving should be available in everything.

Useful, but i don't like autosave only games i get paranoid about data corruption.

Also any game with autosave only and stupid points of autsave hs an easy opportunity to get you trapped in a autodeath scenario.

So everyone agrees that it sucks (checkpoints count as auto saves too right?)

I don't think anyone said that it sucks except you.

I think autosaving should be constant and be the future of gaming.

Think about it a game that saves so often you just can't cheat thats infinitely better than bastard modes where the game deletes your save.

How about a game mode that erases save data if you decide to cheese moves?

I'd love that because i'm awesome at fighting games.

You're a bad sport though, hitting me when I'm trying to figure out which is the best taunt for each character.

In all fairness the fights I did that in you inexplicably won.

Hmm i see i get that but what if you wanted to go back and get something or re do it better because a mistake was made? auto saving where there is only that would ruin your gameplay no?

heh heh lol fair enough.

Buu would have just done it right the first time, so it wouldn't be an issue.

Bioshock Infinite's autosave system is horrible. I always make sure to turn it off after I see the saving message, but not once have I turned it back on and been where I was. I'm always about 10 minutes earlier in the game than when I stopped.
