Yakuza: Dead Souls

So the completion requirements for some of the mini games have changed. Now you have to beat a zombie dude, but first you need to fish him. Can't wait to play table tennis with him. Also, I beat Amon and got the Boxcelios/satellite laser as a reward. The damage is absolutely broken. I love it.

Should i buy this then?

I was thinking about prototype 2 but honestly i think i'd rather play this.

Yes, buy it.
The controls felt awkward at first, but you'll get used to them. The plot is really good, sub-stories are better than ever, all the main characters are awesome, the gameplay is pretty fun, Dead Souls mode is interesting and there is so much content in general.

Chou what difficulty should i start this on

hard

Haven't played it on hard, but higher difficulties can be frustrating because the QTEs for finishing off bosses are quite hard.
You'll have to play it on Ex-hard and Dead Souls to get all the trophies anyway, so I suggest you start with normal.

Dead souls is the highest difficulty. Normal zombies are always that aggressive and you have to start anew. It's not that bad though if you use the gambling items you get from the guy in Kamiyama's truck to make a few million yen and then keep upgrading your weapons and armor.

Fuck playing games in my backlog, i should've played this the moment i got this. Gonna play this hardcore for next couple of days.

Also the installation is fucking epic i wish i could have it as my screensaver.

Gonna play story only on normal then i'll play dead souls and 100% complete it and carry over stuff to Ex Hard mode. Just debating which playthrough i go to fight amon on. I also guess i'll see how hard dead souls mode is.

I wish teh controls were a little tighter, although i may get used to it in a while, i thik i'm probably aiming too much. Amazing so far and the heat actions are fucking awesome. Also glad you can use melee weapons to kill still.

I didn't bother 100% completing this one. I remember Pachinko requirements being way too stupid. Sitting for hours, watching those balls and hoping for jackpots isn't my idea of fun.

I'm also still kinda sad for losing my Y4 save data. I spent a whole night playing Mahjong in order to get 100%.

From what i heard its easy to get the pachinko one i this one as theres apparently items.

Um do you want me to send you my Y4 clear data i dunno how close it is to 100% though, but i did platinum the game so it should be reasonably close.
