| Ninja gaiden 2/sigma 2, even though i am a fan to be honest i find this game seems cheap at times, but add in the fact theres a couple of bosses, who have cheap grabs that can OHK you and that one boss you have to shoot arrows at for around 30 minutes adn this being considered a great of this gen seems a bit stupid.
I'm probably going to have to say Infamous 1, sure it was good but i never thought it was an essential purchase like everyone said. There was also a lot of things that bugged me like slow traversal around the city. Prototype seemed to do a lot of things better then this game and the fact they came out side by side didn't help that.
Street Fighter 4, I mean vanilla street fighter 4, SSF4 fixed so many things wrong with this game its not even funny.
Grand Theft Auto 4, reality is boring, is what this game showed to me. This also just paled in comparison to the awesome games that were Vice City and San Andreas.
Oh yeah and anything with Cod in its naem apart from COd4

| Yeah, GTA4 was disappointing. Ditto Red Dead Redemption. inFamous, yes, not a great game but I don't really remember it being hyped much anyway, so I don't know if that should qualify.
Dragon Age 2 is up there as well. It's not a bad game, it just feels like one step forward two steps backwards.
Call Of Duty leaves me cold, but I can appreciate they're still high quality games even if they're not my cup of tea. Same goes for Halo 3 / ODST / Reach.

I mainly put infamous there as a lot of people consider it a game that should be in a PS3 owners collection the reviews for it were mixed. My only problem with Cod was the frequency of release. I've played a bit of a few of them adn i couldnt' honestly tell the difference between each game.

| You weren't a fan of RDR Simian? I loved it. It was like taking the crap out of GTA4 and making it better...in the old west.
I agree with GTA4 and CoD. I'd also say FFXIII. I really like the game and this isn't a concession to Neo or Kaio as its a good RPG, it's just that an FF should be better, especially after the long wait.

I weren't a fan od RDR either. WEll the story at least, the sandbox environment and horse riding was great, but the story was really predictable people had been praising the story a lot. But if you watch a bunch of westerns you know exactly what will happen.

| Any Call of Duty since Modern Warfare. Dragon Age 2 Braid and Limbo - good games but really overhyped and both spawned horrible fanbases who spout "2deep4u" at the first hint of criticism. FFXIII FFXIV Dead Island - unreleased yet overhyped regardless of its actual quality. Spent too much time throwing around artsy bullshit trailers and not enough actually showing off the game - somehow this attracts people to it. DUKE NUKEM FOREVER - Possibly the most overhyped game ever, complete let-down on release.

| I've touched on my problems with RDR in a few other topics, so I won't go into detail here but I found the story both predictable and poorly paced, and while the gameworld is huge and certainly gives a great sense of being in the old west there just wasn't actually that I wanted to do in it. I got bored pretty quickly, which is criminal in a sandbox game. | |

| Umm yeah, the game uses a lot of western tropes, so what? Yes, the ending is predictable? Why the fuck does that matter? It's about how the story went along. A game being predictable is not inherently bad, unless you like it when a game has a serious story then it makes plot twists that make no sense and come out of nowhere (I cite Persona 3 and Persona 4 for dumb twists like these) or general contrivances. The game wasn't also just about the story, the gameplay was great too, the settings actually payed homage to the several types of Westerns and John Marston in and of himself is a great character.
Now, I didn't really care for the villains too much and the ending just brings everything full circle, but I can look past that and enjoy the game's story despite the ending being predictable.

I got really really bored of free roaming. Your choices were picking flowers or hunting animals there really weren' much else to do apart from that.

| It was more fun if you didn't play honorably. It was like GTA where most of the fun comes from just fucking around and being a dick. | |

| I played honorably and still enjoyed the game but then played like a dick and loved the game even more. There is nothing better than tying like 20 guys up to a railroad track and having it run those fuckers down. | |

| I guess it was the somewhat limited feel of dicking around compared to say saints row 2/just cause 2/prototype. | |

| God forbid, it's not like the Arkham City thread wasn't just turned into Uncharted general. | |

Limbo has a fanbase? It was a good game, but I wasn't aware it had a following similar to Braid.
