While that may have been the case in SCIII, it is certainly not true of SCV. He has different positions which his attacks put him into, if you mash buttons without knowing any combos you are ultimately going to fall into 2 pretty lame attacks that only hit once and have a huge pause in between; anyone who has actually played him in this will know that.

I was personally saddened when they didn't include Zasalamel Scythe-wielding characters are my thing. I'm stuck with the next best long-distance weapon user in my book, Hilde.

I only play casually, and only at friends' houses (yah, I mooch ).

He's always had those stances as far as I remember. People still only pick him to mash with.

If people are mashing with Maxi, you just have to backdash to beat them. It's really that simple.

I've had about 150 matches online and I'm pretty sure I've seen only one or two Maxi players. People who want to mash pick Mitsurgi or Xiba, not Maxi.

However, he's quite popular in higher-level play. Two major tournaments took place this weekend and the following characters were played in the Top 8: Pyrrha (4), Mitsurugi (3), Maxi (3), Leixia (2), Viola (2), Siegfried (2), Nightmare, Alpha Patroklos, Natsu, Xiba, Tira and Ivy (some players used more than one character).

Just for the record, the winners were Nightmare and Ivy. Oh and most importantly there were 3 surprisingly good-looking female players.

Already have a Soma (Edge Master), a Sonia Belmont, & a Jonathan Morris (Both Ivy).

I should make a Fuma, Though he'd have to be a Mitsurugi. -_- ...Or maybe a Yoshimitsu. ...I'm thinking Yoshi because Fuma's special attacks are shit like the somersault spins while Mario'ing enemies.

If I did make an Alucard, He'd be similar to Soma because he also used different weapons throughout Castlevania (SoTN & HD mostly, In DoS he only had his favorite sword and in CV3 he could only use Hell Fire as a regular attack and turn into a bat. He wasn't playable in Legends & nobody really likes Judgment. lol)

So I just checked my stats and despite having played 750 matches (both online and offline), I've only covered the 1/3 of the distance required for that bronze trophy. What the hell was Project Soul thinking?

I think Namco had implied that there would be more extra move sets. They probably ran out of time.
Personally I'm satisfied with the 26 move sets we got. They really did a great job with all of them (except Aeon).

Spammed Played a bit with Omega earlier and I liked her simplicity, her stances and her crazy damage output. Pyrrha is awesome too, but I can't stand her. Never been a fan of the sisters, so I didn't know what I was missing.

So while looking through the items I have I realised it was possible to make a fairly accurate Luffy so I went for it. Excuse the quality, used my phone to take pictures.

I made attempts at Zoro, Brook, and Mihawk as well but they don't look quite as good.

So, I attended a con over the week-end and got the chance to play in a Soul Calibur V tournament. It started at 4 PM... And ended up going on pass 6 (At which point I left because I wanted to catch the Write a song with Brentalfloss event.) My opponent for the first round didn't show, So I defaulted to the second round, Wherein my opponent was a furry I'd been fighting with most of the time I was in the game room. (His favorite (And admittedly best) character was Devil Jin. Which was his only weakness as DJ was banned alongside Nightmare.)

So we're fighting, I'm Maxi naturally and he's Cervantes (His second apparently) We start fighting and we both find that our button layout's been fucked with (People have been pausing and setting up different layout's almost the whole tournament til now.) And we both change it to our liking (Mine's default, Fuck changing anything.), When this guy that literally just showed up the last 2 or 3 fights comes up and is like "No pausing, If you pause you lose." ...He was apparently one of the guys running the tourney.

Anyway, After that, I win my first fight. (The format was best 2 out of 3 rounds and best 2 out of 3 fights.) And then he starts getting better... While also getting ring outs by me, I actually won the 2nd fight with a ring out about 15 seconds into the match, Give or take. It might've been 30, Actually.

At this point, It was 5:50 PM ...I literally had not gotten to fight the whole tournament until the match with the furry. And it would be my last match due to forfeiting to see Brentalfloss. ...I feel like a dick.
