This is a common thing. I was adviced by a Disney fan on AP that I should never rewatch some of the 90's Disney cartoons, because they're not as good as you'll remember them. It's better to cherish the memories you had as a kid.
Nostalgia is a bitch.
Too bad DBZ fans don't realise this.

Most 90s Disney movies are still quite good. Spider-Man the Animated Series suffers from stock footage, bad animation, hit or miss voice acting, heavy censorship, and some of the characters really just aren't done justice.
I mean, really, how in the hell do you make a kid's show with censorship and add CARNAGE AND THE PUNISHER of all characters? One which was a cause of the EXTREEEEEEEME 90s and the other which murders people all of the time.

Hey, you like marvel super hero squad.
The x-men cartoon has aged terribly, the Spidey one i still enjoy. I mean sure the characters are a bit odd, but the fact we even got to see them back then was the big deal for me. When i was young i just appreciated the fact they were there. Nowadays i just admire the scope of the show considering the limitations they had. I mean fuck we got the secret wars and spider wars. Thats fucking epic as far as i'm concerned. Probably the biggst offence the 90s show commited was turning doc ock into a pussy.
X-men did have its moments the fact they touched on dark pheonix was impressive the main reason that show fails is because of characters like jubilee being really jarring and having way too much annoying dialogue, the fact wolverine literally can't do jack shit at all. I mean i never understand cartoons with him in i think the only one i seen which he fights properly is hulk vs.

Yeah, it's pretty pointless to have Wolverine in a show where the only things he can sink his claws into are metal. It's something that was a problem with Wolverine and the X-Men too but Wolverine played more of a leader role there so he wasn't as fight happy as he was before.

I've been reading Secret Wars and it's not that good... the show's little arc of it wasn't too good either but Spider Wars was actually pretty damn good.

Honestly i can't comment on secret wars as i only saw that as a kid, but i mainly enjoyed it for the fact that we had such a huge all star cast (i can't help but think it was probably cheesy anything with cap in it is). The spider wars i have seen recently and that part is still as great as ever.
Oh yeah just remembered possibly my fave arc in spidey 90s and that was the 6 forgotten warriors one.

All I do is bring up how shit Nostalgia Chick's review was and I'm the one who loves it to death? Okay, although I do... I'm not going to steal Buu's thunder. I'm the Aladdin/Lion King/Tarzan guy here. Buu's Hercules and you're Beauty and the Beast. We all have to slice it fairly. I got 3 films because I'm awesome though. Baal's probably Hunchback.
And yes, its show was great. I liked that catastrophia episode.

The cheezy lines in the X men cartoon were the heart of the show. I would never change it.

Same goes for '90s Spidey's rushed and the cheesy dialogue.
I'm still trying to decide who had the worst lines, MJ or Morbius. Venom easily had the best in his first episode, Kasady would come second but of course he had to ruin it by saying "We'll wreak glorious carnage throughout the land." as if he was he was some maniac living in the dark ages, so that spot should go to Tombstone.

The older I get, the more love I have to the Marvel cartoons, especially the 90s ones I saw none of Marvels 90s cartoons (except seasons 2 of both "Fantastic Four" & "Iron Man") before the year 2000

WoW, Spider-Man series is really corny, season 1 is the least corny one
It's funny considering the censorship forbade the use of the word Sinister because it is not child friendly, so they had to replace it with the word Insidious: Sinister Six -> Insidious Six
With that they still got away with using Carnage with his original name, and we all know Carnage is far less child friendly as a word than Sinister is
Punisher originally used guns that shoot things other than bullets, he still used bullets, but still has a good enough excuse to use bullet free guns

Carnage was literally one of the worst things about this show... which isn't a surprise as he is pretty much the worst Spider-Man villain.

That's because it meant for children, meaty. Of course you're not going to like it now.
I just find it funny that you're sitting here analyzing a children's show. They're not going to over complicate something or blow a shit load of funds for a show directed at 5 year olds.

Actually Batman the Animated Series is an example of a series that had actually care and work put into it. As are the other two recent Batman cartoons, Spectacular Spider-Man, Gargoyles was too for the first two seasons.
Just because it's made for kids doesn't mean some people don't put work into it.

No they got Carnage pretty much right except for the murder.
One-Dimensional? Check. Annoying as all hell? Check. EXTREEEEEEEEEEME? Check.
He's quite literally Spidey's worst villain.

There exceptional ones then are still good now i'm sure BTAS is still watched by adults they released them all on DVD IIRC. I personally still think 90s spidey is the best spidey cartoon and watch it with my nephew occasionally. But yeah most are trash now, 90s X-men is a cheese fest to a sickening degree. I'm curious what turtles would be like to watch now though, i'm sure i'd find Raph funnier though as when i was younger i didn't realise he broke the 4th wall and was a sarcastic dickhead.
