Thanks for the update. But Patrick, shouldn?t we be concerned that this episode with the PS3s is really just our consoles becoming sentient and possibly trying to overtake us? Should we keep our systems in isolation, just to be safe?

Well, plenty of people the problem has fixed itself. Some are working again, some aren't.

Everything seems to be back to normal.

Any unsynced trophies that the system tried to access during the error are gone forever it seems.

Weird. I got again all of my unsynched trophies for ASR the moment I started it.

According to their twitter, they fixed it.

They did fuck all and everyone knows it. It was the same leap year problem that other devices have had.

So when the date changed again it worked?
That's kinda dumb.

Yeah, that's all that happened. The PS3 thought it was a leap year when it wasn't, and trying to calculate the nonexistent date of February 29th 2010 screwed stuff up. Anything that required a date to be recorded, like signing in to PSN and such, couldn't be performed because the system didn't know what the date was. After 24 hours it all started working because March 1st 2010 actually exists, so the clock could start recording data again.
